Solved Java SE Binary is not reponding

I have win7 64 bit and use a currency trading platform that relies on Java. I have been running it quite happily for several months but now find that the platform freezes when I ask it to work a little harder. I have to close it via Task Manager and that is when I get the warning that Java is not responsive.

There have been numerous emails between me and the broker but it is clear they have no idea what is causing the problem.

To date, I have tried the following remedies:


Removed all Java files and reinstalled.
Tried Java 64 bit alone, tried it with 32 bit in tandem, and tried 32 bit alone.
Tried a previous version of Java recommended by my broker.
Tried starting via Chrome and IE.
Sent copies of Java console logs to the broker (the Java console freezes simultaneously with the platform so I can only send a screen print showing the latest info).
Run CC Cleaner, Malwarebytes and Superantispyware.
Reinstalled the platform data.

Basically, I've tried numerous permutations, including removing everything relating to the problem, cleaning up, and reinstalling.

Any ideas?

You can add Process Explorer to your list of tools that check for malware.

You might try Process Monitor to see if you can find the cause of the freeze.

Thank you very much for that UNI. I have set them running but I haven't the faintest idea what I am looking at. I'll read the Help files but may I get back to you if I still don't understand?

Process Explorer probably does not need to run all of the time. If it is setup like the link/post mentions, then you will have virustotal info of each process that is running. Once you have glanced thru that info, you can end Process Explorer.

Process Monitor probably cannot run too long before it consumes all of your resources. You can set it to save info to a file, but let's not bother with that just yet. Process Monitor is best used to gather info about an event that you can reproduce. (e.g. Start Process Monitor, cause Java to lock up, stop Process Monitor - then read thru the info gathered by Process Monitor to see if a cause for the lockup can be found.)
