Hello,
I am in desperate need of help. My on-line baking uses Java so I can upload my checks for deposit, and now I need to download the latest version of Java. Every time I try download the update I get and error code 1603. I have tried several ways to get the update to download but so far nothing has worked. I am running Windows 7, and I am current with all Window updates. I have a Dell computer with a AMD Phenom 9650 Quad-Core Processor 2.30 GHz, Installed Memory 4.00 GB, and a 64-bit operating system.
Do you have any ideas that I can try.

I would first uninstall all existing versions of java. Then go to:

Java SE Runtime Environment 8 - Downloads

And download the offline installer for your system. Usually 32 bit is recommended (35.6mb). This should bypass the .MSI problem and get you installed.

I already have completely removed all aspects to Java, and I have even went to regedit and removed everything related to Java and I still cannot download the latest Java version without getting the error code 1603. Do you have any other ideas?

Thanks, for your advise.

The problem, then, is in downloading the update rather than installing it? Is this true of other downloads? Have you tried a different browser? What browser are you using, with what security settings? Which AV progs?

Thanks for your help, but I found another source and tried his suggestion, which was to download Java V7 and after I did that I ended up with V8.25. Everything is working now.
