Has anyone use Jetdrive from ablesoft.de? I have used it on one computer, a laptop that has some minor slowdowns all the time. It seems to have helped a lot with boot time and has cut down the time to load programs that I haven't used recently.

It takes a LOOOOONG time but it seems to do a file system arrangement thing that puts files that are used by a program next to the program on the drive. Maybe not the best thing for windows 7, but I do see noticeable improvement in the laptop. Acer aspire 4730z BTW.

I'm running it on my desktop which has nice big 350gig hdd. it says it will take 1 day, 2 hours and 14 minutes, so I set the process priority to real time to speed it up and left.

From what I can tell, it's really just a defragmenting suite. There are a ton of these on the web. The one I use is from Piriform (Maker of CCleaner) and it's called Defraggler.

Granted, some defrags can take a long time, but if you regularly defragment your hard drive(s), you shouldn't experience more than 1/2 to an hour defrag time. I defrag my main hard drive twice a week.

JetDrive is an easy to use disk optimization and defragmentation suite that can not only defrag a hard drive, but with a number of unique benefits and features to further improve a system?s efficiency.
JetDrive can be set to run either manually or automatically according to the user?s preferences. As well as a highly effective defragmentation algorithm, JetDrive can also defragment the Windows Registry, resulting in a significant performance boost for most systems.
If the user is short of time and needs a quick fix, JetDrive?s Fast Defrag will defragment the Windows core files only, resulting in as much as 90% of the performance boost in only five minutes.
JetDrive can also check the hard drive for errors, and can optionally remove any garbage and temporary files before the defragmentation begins.
With folder visualization and clear, easy to understand reports, JetDrive offers an easy to use and highly effective means of squeezing greater performance out of all Windows systems.

It is just a degragger with a cleaner built in. The registry defragger is much ado about nothing, especially for Windows 7. It may be some value in XP.
