A new Nvidia only program has been released, which seems to be a nice little tool as well. It's based on GPU-Z, but also has overclocking and voltage tuning (470/480 only supports voltage tuning).

Update: eVGA GTX 480 WATERCOOLED!​

Hey everyone, After several delays, waiting for parts DD forgot in the package (missing O-Ring) and waiting for barbs I have finally finished my little project. And ohhh am I exited.

I tore down, and redid my Watercooling loop and added the GTX 480 into my loop. I'm running the 480 and my Q9650 (4.0 Ghz) all on a Feser TFC 360 Radiator. I switched out the Yate Loon fans for Scythe GT 1850's and used the Yate's for Shrouds.(I killed the Yate's, Tore out the motors) Now at idle I'm actually getting LOWER temps than before with just the CPU, weather it's a better CPU block seating, or the Scythe Gentle Typhoon Fan upgrade and the use of shrouds i don't know. but my CPU temps are a little lower, and my GTX 480 idles at 33c and oh is it excellent!


So, I'll go ahead and throw up a screeny for everyone, then a photo of the system will follow in a minute..
GTX 480 idling at 33c and Q9650 (4.0 Ghz) idling around 30-33c with a Ambient temp of 26c (78F) in the house.

my GTX 480 under water is just amazing. it idles at 33c and the HIGHEST temp I have seen Period is 51c. and that came while running Metro 2033 in DX11 at 1920x1200 with Physx, AO, AAA, and AF all turned to the MAX. that game is the new Crysis and it gives a beating to these cards. Crysis I was seeing LOAD temps of 49c.. and trust me. I was a happy camper!

Thanks Everlong.....That is just what I was looking for to tweak the fan speed. Obviously not just for EVGA cards.

Mine is not as fancy but it works well along with the 4.75TB of Hard drives and 12GB of memory

A single 480 won't, but a 480 SLI definitely would

Well in some area's the 480 does. and many it does not. But as highly overclocked as they go. It gets pretty close in all area's and smokes it at others. I've got it past 900 Mhz so far, but been busy lately and haven't tested my limits now I'm on water.

And yes there was still bubbles in the reservior. Not in the loop though. Those are always there the first 24-36 hours of a loop. they are ALL gone now and it's as clear as, well..... Distilled Water

yes it should be a very good update.

I'm exited for this next week because the Nvidia Drivers that will officially start the Fermi performance increases will be here. And the Google I/O is also starting and the latest Android Froyo build is coming very shortly. Especially to lucky people like me owning the Nexus One, cuz Google gives us these updates asap. and people with Droid's and Incredible's have to wait for HTC and Motorola to add the update and roll em out.

This next week will be exiting for Nvidia and for Google. I'm looking forward to both!

Just returned from the Thai Embassy in LA, CA. Sorry to have missed some things here.

The main reason I got the 480 is for the 384 bit interface over the 256. I use my system as 90% mostly video application. I have been reading up and Nvidia appears to have the edge for video while gamers seem to prefer the ATI. This may not be the norm for everyone. Having both I must say the Nvidia does have a sharper vision for Blue Ray Movies. Best of all there is no lag time when loading the movies as there is with regular BD players. I have a Sony model 360 that does not play VCD and loads slow. VCD is Video Compact Disk for those that do not know. The GTV 480 does play everything much better then the ATI 3870x2 cross fired that I had. But that is just me.
