I don't know what OTL is frodi as a Google ame up with all sorts of stuff. But I have snipped a few of the files listed in your registry which is why I thought you were using FF they might require getting rid of as they still might be interfering with KIS but wait till Jacee replies again don't go off what I say.

Those refs may be legit but I have never seen these before in any KIS that I have installed. However they could be something to do with Java I really don't know just that I am suspicious of anything that appears like that which I know I haven't put anything on for.

Mate I don't know what to make of those entries Jacee would know more than I - I just assumed yuo had been using Firefox or some such app that uses it.

But is that OTL a security thing from bleeping computer? as it is the nearest thing I can find for those initials. It refers to something called Oldtimer Listit in that site.

You mean the ADW or search from the Windows Start globe?

Sorry mate but I am having a job getting the hang of this again.

Do you know how to look in the "regedit" registry entries? I don't want you to go in there and start deleting stuff or anything but see what is in the listings.

Generally OTL is used as an initial diagnosis tool at the start of a problem analysis. It is helpful not only in the identification of malware but also in telling you some useful information about the user's computer. However, especially when another tool has been used as a starter, OTL can be used as a follow up tool to add to the understanding of a machine's infection and allow for fixes that might otherwise be risky or onerous in their preparation and application. One of OTL's greatest strengths is its ability to perform custom scans for any files or registry data. As malware continues to find new ways to infect systems, OTL is not required to be updated to identify it. Simply implementing a new custom scan for the specific information needed is all that is required. You can see where this is currently being utilized in the G2G Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide. As the malware runs its course, if it becomes obsolete and is no longer a threat, the custom scans can be removed and new ones implemented if necessary. Many user's develop their own lists of custom scans to deliver the exact information that they wish to see regarding a system.

You can delete OTL ... it is not an installed program on your machine.

I too was wondering Jacee and I think had better duck out of this one as I am not of much use at all.
If frodi gets up and going I am more than pleased to help with the config of KIS but as of now like I said I am not up to any real level of knowledge on the stuff that you can deal with.:)

Thanks for that Jacee, I already had unchecked automatic restart, but did not know about unchecking TLS. Do I also uncheck TLS 1? It does still not allow Kaspersky to update though.

ICit2, yes I know how to clean up the registry entries. (Crikee ICit2, it is hot here today! How is it up your way?)

Here are those ff files, these are in Kaspersky, I have not looked in the registy yet.
Something I think very wrong Frodi as the on line banking went out a while ago with the change over from KIS 2012 it is now Safe Money and is separated from the other settings and can be attached as an icon on the taskbar or desktop whatever you prefer again see pic.

I don't know what Jacee thinks but it might be worth looking at the software entries in the registry.

I know about the "safe money", I believe that they won't have that in the next version. I found this entry in the registry "firefox extensions". These belong in Kaspersky.

You know... if this was MY computer, I would wipe and do a clean installation of Windows 7.

I can't totally lead you to a "fix" with Kaspersky because you have more than one problem going on with this machine. :o
