I've been fighting with this since upgrading from XP to W7. The computer only restarts while playing games. I have the latest drivers, have disabled all my sound devices except the one I use and can't figure out why my computer randomly restarts. It's so frustrating and I can't seem to find any help with it.

Heres my event log from about 10 minutes ago when it happened last:

Code:
High Definition Audio Device This device is disabled.
AODDriver4.01 This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed.

If you are not using your HD Audio device then uninstall it instead of disabling it.

AODDriver belongs to AMD Overdrive. It can be apart of EasyTune or AMD Vision Control. Unistall the software as it can cause BSODs

I see your memory is running at 1600MHz. According to your motherboard specs, this speed isn't supported. Not sure if this is the problem.

"Support for DDR3 2000(OC)/1333/1066 MHz memory modules "

I'm seeing errors for your keyboard (request additional software). Did you keyboard come with any software? Or is it just a generic usb keyboard?

Also see that your NEC USB 3.0 drivers aren't installed. Download and install from GIGABYTE website - http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Driver/motherboard_driver_usb3.exe

You can also try a clean start up to see if the crashes continue

Thank you very much for the help.

My keyboard is a wireless Logitech MK 700, not sure if it came with software, I've had it awhile. I did go to the Logitech site and looked for software for it and I found Setpoint. Is that what I need or will the MS software work?

Each time I uninstall the HD Audio from Microsoft, when I reboot my computer it reinstalls it again. Any suggestions?

I do have my memory OC's to 1600, but I don't think that's the problem. When it's set to 1300 I still have the same error messages in my log and the same reboot problmes. It only happens when I play games.

No. You don't need Setpoint. I was just pointing out things I saw in the report. Don't have to address it if you don't want to.

I guess just leave the HD Audio alone.

Continue with my other recommndations

Thank you again for the help!

Can you tell me how to get rid of the AOD driver? I don't have easy tune installed, and I uninstalled AMD Overdrive. When I look, I still have that same error about AOD.

Thank you.

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center.
Please uninstall the AMD OverDrive program as it can cause BSOD's on your system.
If it's the stand-alone app, uninstall it via Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program
If it's in the AMD VISION Engine Control Center, you can uninstall it using the AMD uninstall tool (or uninstall the entire AMD VISION Engine Control Center application through Control Panel

If the device remains a problem in perfmon /report, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Uninstall". Reboot for changes to take affect.

Thanks again for the help.

I did a clean install of Windows last night, made sure all the latest drivers and updates were installed and still had the random restart during gaming today. I was able to play longer than before, but it still happened.

I trying to use a process of elimination, AOD is not a problem any longer, it was removed during the install. I found just the amd drivers without the CCC utility. I do have my CPU and Ram OC'd to see if that is the problem.

Please take a look at the latest report and let me know if you see anything out of the ordinary. I'm not able to run the perfmon / report for some reason. Each time I try it says 'The Parameters are Incorrect'.

Thank you.

Please remove any OC to see if crashes stop.

Also, since you did a fresh install and the crashes still occur, then it is most likely a piece of hardware, but which one, I don't know

I just noticed you never reported back the results of memtest. Have you run it yet?

I also would liek you to run prime95
Prime95 - Run all three tests for 3-4 hours each or until fail - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100352-hardware-stress-test-prime95.html

High Definition Audio Device	HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_1002&DEV_AA01&SUBSYS_00AA0100&REV_1002\5&B219905&0&0001	This device is disabled.
BlackBerry USB\VID_0FCA&PID_8004&MI_00\7&DECD26&0&0000 The drivers for this device are not installed.

Do the following steps to check hardware.

  • Download and install the appropriate version of HWINFO: HWiNFO32 for 32-bit Windows 7 or HWiNFO64 for 64-bit Windows 7 to check hardware temperatures by running in sensor-only mode. Start logging the temperature through sensor-only mode when the computer first starts, and let it run during stress or until a crash occurs.

Save the CSV file in a place you will remember, and then compress the CSV file to a zip file and upload to here for us to analyze by following the steps in http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/9733-screenshots-files-upload-post-seven-forums.html.

  • Use FurMark: VGA Stress Test, Graphics Card and GPU Stability Test, Burn-in Test, OpenGL Benchmark and GPU Temperature | oZone3D.Net to test the graphics card GPU. Then use the |MG| Video Memory Stress Test 1.7.116 Download to test your graphics card memory.

  • Run http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100352-hardware-stress-test-prime95.html to determine any hardware problems. Run all three tests for a few hours each. If you get errors, stop the test and post back here.

  • Run the boot version of Memtest86+ paying close attention to Parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial. Also, in case Memtest86+ misses anything and comes up with no errors, run the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool for at least five passes. These you may want to run overnight since they take a long time to complete (run them an hour before bed each of the next two nights and check before going to sleep that they are still running).

If you swap any memory components, follow these steps for ESD safety:
    1. Shut down and turn off your computer.
    2. Unplug all power supplies to the computer (AC Power then battery for laptops, AC power for desktops)
    3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to close the circuit and ensure all power drains from components.
    4. Make sure you are grounded by using proper grounding techniques, i.e. work on an anti-static workbench, anti-static desk, or an anti-static pad. Hold something metallic while touching it to the anti-static surface, or use an anti-static wristband to attach to the anti-static material while working.
Once these steps have been followed, it is safe to remove and replace components within your computer.

1600 frequency memory is known to have problems with AMD processors, so setting it to 1333 would be better. You also have a lot of memory installed, and the BIOS regulates voltages for 4 GB or less in Auto mode.

Download and install CPU-Z and Upload screenshots of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and SPD tabs. In the SPD tab, upload an image of each slot.

Also, go into your BIOS and post all Voltages (CPU, RAM, NB, IMC, etc.) and all RAM settings (timings, frequency, etc.)

Thanks to Dave76 for help learning RAM Stability
