Kernel-Power Event ID 41, system freezes unexpectedly

I have a hp pavilion dv6 notebook running windows 7 home premium x64

specs: intel i7 processor [email protected] GHz
6Gb DDR3 ram
640GB WD SATA HDD(5400rpm

the events in the event viewer just before event 41 are

event ID1: system watchdog timer triggered
and the file system filters 'trufos' and 'gzflt' are registered and added to the file system manager(event ID6)

I previously used to get the BSOD but that stopped and this started
I have attached the latest minidump files
Please help me figure this out

Hi

The BSOD are caused due to Direct X... try reinstalling it ..... also once you have done it .... reinstall the graphics drivers as well with a clean install....

But... it would be nice if you follow the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions and post the rest of the files.

it would help us narrow the actual problem... if the above doesnt work.

as i mentioned i did not get the BSOD for quite a while(a couple of months). this kernel power problem has been occurring since the past 3 weeks
Still i reinstalled the graphics drivers and DirectX
after restarting my system again froze and the event viewer showed the same kernel power error
i'll post the rest of the files soon

Few things i have seen are during the time of the freeze or BSOD where dxgkrnl.sys was the cause there was watchdog timer that was set to shutdown. There is also high temperature that was noted during the BSOD...

where _PSV (Temperature to start passive cooling by throttling down CPU) = 403K (Kelvin)---or ---- 129.85 deg C this is way high

and _HOT = 378K ( Temperature to start critical suspend to disk )= 378K (Kelvin) ---- or --- 104.85 deg C this is also high

Could you run Speccy or speedfan to check you temperature....and let us know

Try cleaning your laptop air vents and see if the temp come down...

my laptop model is known to have heating issues. I had the fan changed just 3 months back. Previously when it used to shutdown because of heating i used to get a message on restart that the computer had shutdown due to overheating. But now i do not get these messages on restart. Also the system does not feel that hot on touching it(just a shade above room temperature) whereas previously it would feel really hot. Also the system runs on a belkin cooling pad.
Anyway the speccy snapshot is uploaded.

The temps look fine ....

But the above temp was noted during one of BSOD's

Anyways, Could you possibly save the System and Application Logs from Eventviewer as the ones you have attached here, have events only till 15th July 2012....

the highest temps i saw were at 75 deg for the cpu, motherboard and graphics card(while gaming online). Suprisingly the hard disk temp is almost always at 37 deg, only on 2 instances did it go upto 40 degs. I have attached the event viewer logs
