Key Command Navigation Within Folders

It seems that this would be obvious, but I cannot find the solution anywhere ...if it exists.

The icons in my folders are set to "Medium" for easier viewing. So, there are only so many files in a row, depending upon the width of the open folder. If I highlight the first file in a row, I can move to the next file by simply pressing the right-arrow key. However, when it reaches the end of the row, it stops and will not move to the next file which is in the row below. Is there a keyboard action that can accomplish the continuous movement through all files, one at a time, until the last file is reached?

I know that if I set the view to "List", I can accomplish this by using the down-arrow key. However, this defeats my intent to keep the view set to "Medium icons".

I can't find a way to do that. When you get to the end of a row, you can press the down arrow to get to the next row and then use the left arrow to scan through the files on that row.

Here's a work around. When you have files open in medium icons, grab the right hand side of the name, size etc. line and move it to the left as far as it will let you. For me, it then has a row of three icons. Then select Extra large icons. You will then have a single column of icons and can use the down arrow to move from one to the other. Don't know if you like that but it's the only way I could figure out how to get continuous navigation.

In short, no, it isn't mean to work like that.
All icon views (not only medium, but small, big and all others) the movement behaves like moving though a box, and when reaching the end of a row or column you cannot go further without changing direction. It's designed that way and works as intended. No idea if it can be made somehow to change that.
