Keyboard & Mouse locked at Windows 7 Password Screen!

I have a Sony laptop running Windows 7 64.

I was having issues with my Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 (KIS2013) software. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled the software. After the installation, KIS2013 asked me to reboot my system, which I did.

Now when Windows tries to reboot and takes me to my Windows login/password screen both my keyboard and mouse are locked and won't let me choose an account and enter my password! I can't get into Windows 7 either through normal or safe mode reboots.

I've submitted a ticket to Kaspersky support and got a generic response asking me to install some report tracking software. Really?! I just finished telling them that I can't access windows. Still waiting for a response.

Can anyone please provide some step by step solution on how to allow me to gain keyboard and mouse access so that I can log into Windows and remove Kaspersky from my computer?

Any support would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

it could all be a coincidence and you're ps2 controller (not a playstation thing lol) has gone bye bye.
can you entre your bios by hitting delete when the splash screen first appears? if so that means your keyboard is fine.

next restart and hammer the f8 key. this will boot you into safe mode.
once there click start and type run. in that box type msconfig.
click the tab that says start up and then untick everything. unless it says keyboard and mouse controller or something similar as well as ones named hotkeys if you have them. then restart.
if its kaspersky related it will now no longer load when windows does and youll be fine to delete it.. avg or avast does a better job

Thanks for your response badger906.

I've confirmed that my keyboard and mouse are fine.

I'm able to hit F8 and scroll through the options. But unfortunately safe mode also locks up my keyboard and mouse.

I have a windows XP mini boot cd and have been able to load that up. When I'm in the XP mini environment I'm wondering if there's a way that I can uninstall Kaspersky from there?

Cheers!

I'm not sure what "Mini XP" is, but can you go into Control Panel and uninstall Kaspersky. That seems to be the problem.

Like bigmck mentioned; hopefully you should be able to get into the control panel and uninstall it using the cd if it will get you into either safe mode windows or regular normal mode windows.

There should be something in the Control Panel for "Add or Remove Programs".

I've used Karsperky for YEARS, It hasn't caused any issues whatsoever. It might be an unlucky coincidence.

I've got KIS2013 on 2 different computers right now. everything is working perfectly fine and has been so for the time I've been using it.
