Solved keyboard volume controls wont work

I had the same trouble with my Volume control dial on my keyboard, however, your fix worked PERFECTLY!! Thanks a lot!:thumbsup:

I have found a fix after a day or two i tried to use my remote with wmc and it didn't work so after plodding through loads of post her i found a fix for remote it also fixed my keyboard
Method:-control panel/administrative tools/services/human inerface device access
click on human interface device access set to automatic and the important bit CLICK START.
cant say how pleased i am to have my remote fully functioning and keyboard

  1. Thank you for this fix. It worked.
  2. How in the blue-eyed world did you stumble upon this arcane, hidden, unintuitive (until after the fact) setting?
  3. Up until a day or so ago, my KB volume control worked fine. I didn't change anything and it just spontaneously quit. Any idea why? How can a service not only be turned off without human intervention or knowledge, but set to manual?
  4. Did I remember to thank you for this fix?
  5. Sorry for Necroing the thread but I'm blown away by how arcane this setting is and just had to thank Booyah for finding it.
  6. Oh, and thanks to SevenForums for not archiving this or deleting it just because it's 8 years old. Bravo. Erm, I mean, BOOBAH! :D
