Carl is off line right now, but I am sure he will come by in the Morning
Back up the right way with a new install
Install programs etc. Use it. Then activate by phone if not already done.

Now make a system image. or use similar HD image software like Macrium Reflect
Now put it away

Once a week make a system restore point and after a month make another HD image. UPdate that HD image once a month

Down the road a little problem use system restore
a bigger problem use the current HD image
Now for the big ones like virus etc and the virus is on the current image, guess what you have a copy made when the OS was brand new
