Laptop Battery not charging past x %

Hey guys,
I have an Acer Aspire 5741-6073, and it would not charge past 40%, even with the power cord plugged in for several hours. I reported the issue to acer, they asked me to drain the battery then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge any remaining charge. Then while the laptop is off leave it plugged in and charging for a couple of hours.

I did this, but t did not work, so I sent the laptop back to Acer. They claimed they fixed the issue, but my laptop only charges to 50-59% now. I am positive the meter is not reading properly, because it lasts 2-3 hours when starting on 40-50%. Is there a way to fix this issue? or to recalibrate the battery?

So far I have found this, the last set of numbers don't match, but here is the information on charging it, notice where I underlined it:

The dell Aspire 5741G-334G50Mn battery packs isn't charging. What's the deal? New dell Aspire 5741G-334G50Mn battery packs is shipped in a discharged condition and must charged before use. We generally recommend an overnight charge (approximately twelve hours). Refer to the user's manual for charging instructions. Rechargeable dell laptop batteries should be cycled - fully charged and then fully discharged - two to four times initially to allow them to reach their full capacity. (Note: it is normal for a dell Aspire 5741G-334G50Mn battery packs to become warm to the touch during charging and discharging).

New dell laptop batteries are hard for the device to charge; they have never been fully charged and are therefore "unformed". Sometimes the device's charger will stop charging a new dell Aspire 5741G-334G50Mn battery packs before it is fully charged.

If this happens, remove the battery from the device and then reinsert it. The charge cycle should begin again. This may happen several times during the first battery charge. Don't worry; it's perfectly normal.

I've been at 55% on my regular meter ,and the Mio meter says 1:34, 55%

Okay,
so since the last time Acer repaired my laptop (in dec. 2010) for the computer randomly turning off/battery not charging/headphone jack not working...only my headphone jack issue has been corrected. My computer has been randomly turning off (probably from over heating), and then the battery never charges past 59%.... I looked online and updated the bios for my laptop with still the same issues. Any ideas? I dont have the time/money to keep wasting sending my laptop back to Acer so they can ignore my computer needs.
