My Dell Latitude display is fading in the upper third. It works fine with an external monitor. I attached a picture. Is it fixable?
I googled and saw that I can relatively easily replace the inverter ($ 60) or the fluorescent bulb ($10). however, those would cause the screen to be all black or very dark. So it looks like something else is broken. Any ideas?
Obviously replacing the entire screen (if I can even buy one) might be too expensive and not worth it.
I haven't opened it up yet, wanted to research first what repair options I have.
Edit: when the mouse pointer is in the upper third it is almost invisible and leaves traces.
Thanks
