laptop overheat. Need help.

My Dell xps m1330 laptop has an integrated video card (Nvidia 8400 gs) which has an overheat issue. How to fix this problem which causes the screen to shut off by itself or turn blue/white. Thanks.

- Always put the laptop on a firm surface (not a pillow, bedspread, etc) so vents are not blocked.
