Laptop Screen???

I have just re-installed windows 7 ultimate and have noticed that my screen does not fit my physical screen. (If you understand that). Instead of filling the screen it has black lines at the sides and top and bottom.
I have tried changing the screen resolution, can anybody help me out here please?

Screen resolution is controlled by the display driver. If your current drivers are not able to match your resolution with the screen set, change your drivers- either update/ downgrade or try different drivers.

Good news I just had to click Windows Update and the update was shown. Installed update and restarted computer, worked a treat! REP
