Solved Laptop updates

[PSCO2007]

I recently purchased a laptop to supplement my PC.

I manually check updates daily on the PC and install the updates.

I rarely use the laptop and today checked for updates and it said none available.

I'm confused as to why, when I uploaded updates daily for the PC (more than 10) since last using the laptop.

Are they configured the same and with the exact same Microsoft software? Microsoft usually releases OS and software updates on the second Tuesday of each month. Microsoft Security Essentials gets definition updates daily, sometimes more if you check for it. Other AV software may be different.

Hi Ken,

The image was taken from my backup on PC and xsferred to laptop, so everything is the same.

Both Windows 7 Pro.

Even a few critical updates from PC are not showing for laptop.

I'm a little confused because you can't be updating the same product key on two different PCs. I'm surprised it hasn't thrown out the not genuine message. Could be why you're not getting updates.

No, the product key for the laptop is genuine and shows as activated in control panel.

I am getting updates, just not all of the ones for the PC.

Hi Ken,

I took another look at the laptop updates and the only ones that are missing are the daily defs ( which I search for on the PC, but forgot to do on the laptop).

So all is good.

Yeah, me too - 10 important and 1 optional.

They showed up on both computers, as well.
