Laptop Wireless Randomly Stopped Working

Yesterday I was using my laptop, everything was working fine, I left it for a couple of hours whilst I went away to do something else, when I came back it was in Standby Mode, I powered on & I noticed that my wireless wasn't picking up my network, I tried multiple restarts, installing the device driver again & switching to switch on the side to no avail it just has a Orange light & does nothing.

Anyone know anything else I could try?

Really hope it's something software related, my DVD drive failed a few months back, hope I don't have to spend more money on it.

You've done the driver, good. You've checked the switch, good. I doubt a System Restore will help here, but you could also try that.

Also, most of the laptops face the problem with the residual charge storage. Residual charge gets stored near the RAM chips of the laptop. If the voltage of the residual charge reaches threshold then the system will not be able to access the memory and hence will give some problems while working. To bring the laptop back to the working state, you will have to clear the residual charge which is stored on the laptop. To clear the residual charge, shut down the laptop and disconnect it from the AC source. Remove the battery and then press the power button of the laptop for about 30 seconds. Replace the battery and see if the problem still persists or not.

I was also facing the same issue with HP DV9000 laptop which I was using. While connecting to any wireless network, the orange light on the laptop used to glow and the laptop would not connect to the network. I tried to find the reason for the problem and found out that there is some moisture issue with the Wifi card. To solve the issue, I downloaded the Everest application which can stress the CPU of the computer. Install the application and run it while blocking the air vent of the laptop. Wait till the CPU temperature reaches 75 degrees. Now the orange light should turn into Blue. This procedure solved my problem and I hope it solves for you too.

But be careful if you go this route. 75 degrees Fahrenheit isn't going to damage anything, so be sure to stop there.

WIN + X | top right-hand corner in the Wireless Network section--is Wireless On shown?

Control Panel | type in the control panel search bar trouble |
click on Network and Internet | click on Network Adapter

Thanks for the responses, tried all but none worked.

Anyway, I've found a guide on how to take-apart my laptop, looks pretty straight forward.

Bought a replacement card & will see how it goes.

Hope the replacement goes well and smooth. I can only warn-be very careful and very gentle. I have been lucky and had a very experienced technician who had repaired literally hundreds of laptops show me how, what, where, why on my Toshiba and Asus. Without his help, I'd be sending the laptop/netbook back to the manufacturer.

The guide I mentioned says wear an anti-static wristband, problem is I don't have one on me, is it absolutely necessary?

Could I do anything else to prevent damage or should I just wait & buy one, then try?

Do not wear static-electricity-generating clothing.
Do not work at or stand-on a static-electricity-generating surface.
Immediately before you start working on the laptop, discharge the static electricity from your body into the object to which you would have been connecting the waistband.

Thanks for the tips, after reading up on a few things I'm just gonna take the part I bought to a local computer repair shop & get them to fit it, after all I don't wanna risk any more damage & expense.

Wireless stops working randomly

I have a similar, but slightly diffrent priblem.
My wireless stops working randomly. (gives the "no connection avaliable" sign).
To fix it all I have to do is to put my laptop in sleep mode and than start it again. And it works again till the next crash.

Does any of you have an idea what is wrong??
