I'm using the Windows Update driver for my 7800gt, Would I get any performance increase using 182.05 beta driver?

I would find out myself but I don't want to go through the hassle and risk messing up my install.

Hello Ben, and welcome to Seven Forums.

I'm not sure if you would see and increase in performance or not, but you can always roll back the driver to the Windows Update one the 182.05 doesn't help any.

BTW, I just got an update via Windows update for the following:

NVIDIA driver update for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 (Prerelease - WDDM 1.1)

Yeah, it will be nice when Microsoft has that feature running. My guess is that it will not be until vendors start having full release Windows 7 drivers available.

i've had problems with the 182.06 drivers. fan on my 9600gt stopped, gpu-z couldn't read anything. went back to 180.22

I am going to try out the new Windows 7 release and see what version they are trying to pump to me - I am currently using 182.05 Beta drivers and loving them....

Causes flickering on my Geforce Go7400. Even the nvidia beta drivers(179.x) does as well on Win7. The OEM drivers(174) seems to be stable.

Yes dont use the vista drivers as they do cause the flickering.

Not on all games but certain ones do... Mainly Opengl / bink videos but yeh its still probably better to stick with the win 7 drivers for win 7.
