Got extremely hacked off last night sitting trying every hour or so to see if they were available.

Update: speed constantly dropping....no wonder it took them a week to get their own software on their own servers

New driver available, version R2.30 2009/8/11

Unfortunately, they aren't quite ready for downloading. It is a bit annoying when they do that - updating the site before they are ready. This is not the first time that they've done that.

ANOTHER one??? Are they going for the record? :sarc:

however, 2.30 is even worse than 2.29. makes ridiculous noises, realtek really needs to start testing their drivers and giving a crap about quaity

I do have a problem like other people with crackling & popping sound while playing music on Realtek ALC883, but I have been wondering, is it really Realtek driver that cause it?

I did try without installing the driver and let windows auto detect the driver from Microsoft Update (altho I can't set the speaker configuration to 5.1 surround with default driver from microsoft) and it still give me a crackling & popping sound. This is make me so confuse to determine whether is it Win 7's fault or Realtek's fault or is it about time for me get a new rig? =/

Does anyone else try with the default driver from Microsoft and have a crackling & popping sound?

I've found that crackling is caused by the realtek driver, my mates PC done exactly the same. I just downloaded an older driver & away it went, no crackling or static

Nah, still get no sound at all. Starting to think it''s got nothing to do with Realtek at all but maybe some compatibility issue between Win7 and Asus Mobo's.

I uninstalled 2.30 and downloaded the realtek drive through windows update (6.0.1.5548) and it was crackle and pop central, forgot about how bad the sound was when i first downloaded the rc anyways i uninstalled realtek once again, complety cleaned my computer (registry etc) of anything realtek. re-installed 2.30 and surprisingly its much better then the first time i installed it.. still the occasional hiccup, however much better then 2.29

Did you see my previous post, all I did was start the download in my browser, then paused it and copied the URL and put it on bitcomet (or Utorrent if that's what you use) and it was downloading at up 190Kbps, try it and I'm sure you have the same result.

I have downloaded the R2.30 driver and it went fast for me. I will try it tonight on my P5N-E SLI
I have uploaded the driver to drop.io for people who can't download it from Realtek

I have installed it in Windows 7 x64, on my P5N-E SLI, and it works great. Front panel, jack detection and everything. Asus should put it on their drivers page

i just installed my realtek onboard as my creative audigy gamer was being a POS with WoW. once i got the speakers set up right i tried wow and...well imagine a REALLY OLD vhs on a barely working vcr in slight slowmo while being muffled with a pillow...its really bad so i tried some music and it crackles a little bit...i have no idea why its doing this...im very irritated.

realtek just posted 2.31... hope this one fixes everything once and for all, but knowing realtek we'll have to wait a day to download it
