Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

Those using HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC and/or HP Pavilion Beats Special Edition Notebook PC can obtain an HP version of the Realtek audio 7378 driver from this HP site instead of from Microsoft Update Catalog as the HP version contains both 32bit & 64bit editions of the 7378 drivers with an EXE setup installer and Microsoft only has the 64bit version and not the 32bit version.

Just recently posted on Microsoft Update Catalog: 6.0.1.7385 dated 11/13/2014 - for x64 Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 only

May be a silly question but... are this drivers compatible with my laptop? here is the Hardware ID just in case:
Code:
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_1025021B&REV_1002
The 888 may have a hint, so if the latest drivers support ALC888S, this might work, but I would like to be sure...

Thanks in advance ;)

I must be missing something because when I add the driver to my basket in the Windows Update Catalog and then go to my basket it claims that there are no updates in my basket. Lol.

And when I used option two to download it directly from the realtek site, it says "Accept agreement?" and when you hit yes and continue it says, "Object moved HERE." You click HERE and it takes you right back to the agreement page in a loop. Hahaha.

Maybe this updated driver just isn't meant for me. (x

Nice! Then I would probably upgrade if for some reason I get problems with my current ones.
Thanks for the answer ;)

no problem. you can update anytime if you want.

there's probably something wrong with your Internet Explorer web browser (or your internet connection) on your machine. try clearing the IE browser cache first, then run IE in administrator mode (or disable UAC and then run IE). I can add the Realtek drivers from Microsoft Update Catalog and download them fine on all my Win7/Win8 computers.

Hi,kevo
You could try this link for Realtek drivers. This is a genuine site with no adware or PuP.I will try to give the exact drivers.
Download Realtek High Definition Audio 2.75 Win 7 - FileHippo.com

The Realtek R2.75 audio driver package contains version 6.0.1.7246 of the drivers. Microsoft has version 6.0.1.7385 of the Realtek audio drivers, which kevo was looking for.

Hahaha.

If you are using Windows 7 x64 edition and using a 64bit version of Internet Explorer 10 or 11, disable either UAC (user account control) or turn off "enhanced protected mode" in the Advanced tab of Internet Options. I did actually encounter problems downloading drivers from Microsoft Update Catalog in IE with "enhanced protected mode" option turned on. Disabling that made the Microsoft Update Catalog site work properly again. Here's the direct link to the 7385 drivers as you can download this with any browser.

Hi,
I have tried this link three days back and installed the same without any problem from the Realtek.com. After, going to that link select 228 mb or suitable to your system bits, for 32 or 64size file to download and it will download without any problem from us link, given in that page, when you receive the microsoft warning about uncertified downloads, just click yes and click the UAC to proceed the download. It was working marvellously. Would it not be better if you choose Realtek drivers from their site. I just downloaded for windows 7 and it perfectly works on audio mike and everything. Try and then report, kkivo

Hard to tell from Realtek site last one to this new one, mainly are customization and in the changelog its quite vague in description. Not using that much realtek now since i have a soundcard. It depends much on how your are setting up your sound system 2.1, 5.1, 7.1... I suggest you to compare with the different computers you have with the same sound system set up for you to evaluate the quality. I now also like to have my sound drivers up to date when i'm sure of their compatibility with my motherboard.

Thanks anyway. I do download and install various versions from R2.72 to the most current 2.75 in my 2 major builds which have avr 7.1 set ups. i have one good board new amd 990FXA UD3 that has an improved dolby home theater version with much improved interface and options than the dolby home theater version on the 890FXA UD5 board. the dolby with that ALc889 is much more limited in its features. i have not been able to install the dolby that came with the newer board on the 890.
anyway, thanks, i was , and always had a problem understanding the correlation between the R2.7x 3number designation with the other realtek hd driver 6.0.1. xxxx numbering and the separate dolby versions eg.: 7.6.3.1. it all seems to work out in the end as far as sound quality. never had any long lasting issues i wasnt able to correct fairly easily
just can not get my board 990FXA UD3 version of dolby to set up on the slightly older 890FXA UD5 which is a higher end board than the ud3 only a few months older. both boards have the same ALC889 realtek hd audio . rather than add a sound card i just work through my ONKYO TX SR 608 7.2 with Polk M70s with polk sub woofer and CS10 with polk RM705 2high and 2side surrounds . in these cases i can utilize the good version of dolby home theater pcee4 which offers a great editor and pre set creator for digital(optical)2channel virtual 5.1 dolby output as well as HDMI output as well that the onkyo can manage with its Audyssey, DTS Neo6 or Dolby PL IIx or IIz for height with DSX or just THX pre sets boundary compensations or whatever it does.
All versions of RealTek drivers and graphic interfaces have been fine, this one with the dolby pcee 4 though has a far more complex interface with features not seen in any of my previous 3 ALC889 equipped boards with dolby
i have been confused as to the workings for 4or 5yrs with each new gigabyte board with this particular realtek built in audio card i can not find any substantive info either. i can not get the cut sheets or data sheets without password and get denied till i gave up 3 or so yrs ago
but thank you for your postings anyway .
am keeping this cab file as a 'surprise' late easter egg but will probably turn out to be the same as the R2.75 release i got last week or so.

I have a ALC889 too and a built-in S/PDiF Out port E/S on my Intel's motherboard, I'm using a 5.1 with Dolby only as I'm not using DTS, i've not a proper input set up for it.

There's a registry trick supposed to allow Dolby/DTS version to get install along the HDA drivers.

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Audio

Add the " DisableProtectedAudioDG " of DWORD type and set its value to 1, reboot.

This is supposed to allow unsigned and modded driver to install. but looks it does work with WHQL drivers too as all the realtek Dolby and DTS files had install yesterday on mine. Haven't check it on my my realtek chip, though!

Version 6.0.1.7460 dated 3/04/2015 from Microsoft Update Catalog - 32bit/x86 / 64bit/x64

Edit: ah nuts, 7460 is WHQL for Windows 8.1 only :(
Latest WHQL based Realtek audio driver for Windows 7 x64 from Microsoft is 6.0.1.7385

@erpster4, I've successfully install this Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.7482 WHQL (04/07/2015) from this SOURCE, it has Dolby Version 7.6.3.1 included.

For:ALC867, ALC880, ALC882, ALC883, ALC885, ALC886, ALC887, ALC888, ALC889, ALC892, ALC899, ALC861VD, ALC867, ALC900, ALC660, ALC662, ALC663, ALC665, ALC668, ALC670, ALC671, ALC672, ALC676, ALC680, ALC221, ALC231, ALC233, ALC235, ALC255, ALC260, ALC262, ALC267, ALC268, ALC269, ALC270, ALC272, ALC273, ALC275, ALC276, ALC280, ALC282, ALC283, ALC284, ALC286, ALC290, ALC292, ALC383

Windows Vista, 7/8/8.1 (32/64).

Still good to grab before a Realtek official release!

thanks but I already updated the Realtek audio drivers a few weeks ago (I got v6.0.1.7474 WHQL somewhere which I will not reveal the direct link to it).

Also, Microsoft somehow posted v7443 dated 2/03/2015 on Microsoft Update Catalog this April - this one is for x64 editions of WinVista, Win7, 8 & 8.1 [the digital signature CAT files included have OSAttr of 2:6.0,2:6.1,2:6.2,2:6.3 - meaning they're WHQL for Vista to Win8.1

And v6.0.1.7459 is available for those using ASUS and Toshiba computers.

I have a ALC889 too and a built-in S/PDiF Out port E/S on my Intel's motherboard, I'm using a 5.1 with Dolby only as I'm not using DTS, i've not a proper input set up for it.

There's a registry trick supposed to allow Dolby/DTS version to get install along the HDHA drivers.

Haven't check it on my my realtek chip, though!

hi NoN. I have several computers (desktop & laptop) that use Realtek HD Audio chips with the following hardware IDs and the Windows OSes used:

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0269&SUBSYS_104D4600 < Realtek ALC269 on Sony VAIO VPCEB44FX laptop (late 2010 model) w/ Dolby PCEE3 Home Theater V3 support [Win7 x64]
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0269&SUBSYS_1179FA22 < Realtek ALC269 on Toshiba Satellite C55Dt-A5306 laptop (summer 2013 model) w/ SRS3-DTS Sound or DTS Studio Sound (which is the DTS version of SRS Premium Sound) [Win8.1 x64]
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_10280438 < Realtek ALC3220 on Dell Inspiron 580 desktop PC (late 2009 model) w/ Creative THX TruStudio PC support [THX Trustudio PC/Pro is part of Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-FI MB2 application suite] [Win7 x64]
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0268&SUBSYS_103C30CC < Realtek ALC268 on Hewlett-Packard [HP] dv6648se Home Entertainment laptop - basic audio features only but has built-in Altec Lansing laptop speakers [WinVista x86/32bit]
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0861&SUBSYS_8086C601 < Realtek ALC861 on an old Intel D101GGC motherboard on a custom built desktop PC using Win7 x86/32bit - basic audio features only

The Realtek audio drivers have different setups specific to certain hardware IDs that were being detected by setup.

what is the hardware ID of your ALC889 audio device?
