Well since my issues not being able to install things i fully reinstalled windows 7-ULT-x64, formatted and installed it again... and yet I am still having install issues (different ones sure, but still issues nonetheless, some things install but the bigger packages like MS OFFICE PLUS Pro 2010 won't, Nero v10 installed fine, But Paint Shop Pro Photo x3 won't the installer locks up, quits extracting in it's tracks just stops LOL also System Suite v10 and Fix-It-Utilities V10 won't install either, the packages that won't install are all well over 100MB into the 400-4GB range in sizes. I am ok with it most of what I drastically need is now installed once again, Seems to just updated windows installer is not the case at all because some rely on C++, some on JAVA, Some on Direct-X, Some on MSi Installer etc, so yeah I tried all that I oculd for days on end to fix the installation issues to no avail, and i am not a spring chicken to the pc world having owned computers since 1982, so anyway it's okay I will live LOL maybe... But Avast V5 "DID INSTALL" and it updated fine, it works fine (Other than the fact I hate how it just yanks a suspected malware and confines it, some i dont want it to do that with, then i have to goto taskbarand open avast interface go into quarantine and restore it so i can use it once again but only after i disable all 10 avast v5 shields... a very neanderthal method of regaining what's needed... so anyway... along with alot of other things I put back on for security and music etc. So hey it's not a full loss, i will continue to wade through the windows issues as always, and Hey, thanks for the link I will check it out, Stay Cool and Always Enjoy Your PC Time.!

AVAST! is great, but do I need a firewall as well? or is Windows 7 firewall good enough? My previous experience with Firewalls is that they slow things down a bit.

Avast Internet Security 5 - installation issue (fix)
If you have a biometric software installed on your computer, you need to uninstall it in order to install Avast Internet Security 5 to work properly. The issue is that the biometric software interfers with the proper installation of Avast and on reboot, you will get "failure to logon" on windows 7 startup.
