Laundry List of Problems

So I have been having issues with my computer for about a week now, it all started when Google Chrome tabs started crashing frequently and it has just gotten worse. I started keeping track of most of my problems and attempts at resolving them so I guess I'll just list them here. I'm sorry if this isn't where or how I'm supposed to post this, but I'm at wits end after spending so much time trying to figure this out. PLEASE READ ALL OF IT. I've tried quite a few things, so I don't want to be told to do them again.

  • Frequent tab crashes in Chome, eventually ending up with BSOD - Memory management
    • Stopped using Chrome, switched to Firefox. No BSOD's yet, but Firefox still crashes, just not as frequently
  • A couple of games I play have been having issues with corrupted files.
    • League of Legends, missing sounds and textures in game. Most of the time at the launch screen, says I have corrupted game files, so it re-downloads them. Doesn't solve the problems.
    • Dark Souls 3, I eventually can't progress past a certain point, so I verify my game's cache in Steam, comes back saying game files have been corrupted, so it re-downloads them.
  • I had a few programs crash at start up, didn't start logging my problems when some of them happened, but I did write down one, DBInstall, it's an NVIDIA program.
  • Windows Update didn't work
At this point I had run a few tests; memtest(which I didn't conclude anything from because I couldn't see the results. Screen wasn't centered because it doesn't work well w/ HDMI and I think my VGA port on my MOBO doesn't work) Windows Memory Diagnostic, checked all of my HDs for errors. Ran full scans w/ Microsoft Security Essentials and MalwareBytes. Everything came back A-OK. So I did a fresh install of Win7. Still having issues...

  • So with the fresh install, having installed all the required drivers, it needed a big update. Most of it failed. 16/196? managed to install correctly, everything else failed. Now Windows Update doesn't work again
  • Firefox still crashing
  • Still having issues w/ Dark Souls 3 and corrupted game files
  • svchost.exe using massive amounts of RAM and CPU power. Pretty sure the fix is in one of the updates that failed to install properly. Can fix temporarily by stopping Windows Update in Services.
I guess that's the gist of it. I'm guessing it's a hardware issue, but I'd like to pinpoint it before I go out and buy anything. Sorry again if this is posted in the wrong place/wrong format but I just joined this forum for this problem. Normally I use Google and figure it out myself, but I'm sick of searching through all those results. Plus this seems a bit more complicated than any other issue I've had. So some direct help would be awesome.

It seems like a memory, HDD or maybe a malware problem. Did you delete all partitions etc before reinstalling? Were there any problems during the installation?
Have you installed all necessary drivers correctly?

Boot from a Live CD Linux. If ti works - you have to deal with some software / drivers problems. If it doesn't work then most probably something is wrong with your RAM, HDD, SSD, cables, PSU...

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Use realtemp to see what load and temperatures are
Download Real Temp 3.70 | techPowerUp

You can also use resource monitor and the overview section to see what the cpu.... are doing when your doing nothing
svchost has been a thorn in many backsides lately see if it's hogging half or more of the cpu at idle

Windows update issues have been widely reported
See if this works not the clean install stuff the second part in the quoted area
