Lenovo OneKey recover deletion

I did a OneKey recovery due to a missing boot file and unfortunately I chose restore to initial point. Reading about this issue, it seems that all my personal files have been deleted. Is there an application that will recover these somehow? For example Recoverit claims it will find files in a formatted drive...

Have you seen San Andreas or San Andreas Quake? Using an imperfect analogy, your recovered data will appear in bits and pieces, similar to the Rock or the Lady, in their respective movies, attempting to find all and finding some important papers and folders which no longer contain their former contexts: which people formerly had those papers, which houses those papers formerly belonged in, no street names, no street signs, and so on. While I certainly hope your data recovery attempts will yield usable, readable, editable, files -- my experiences of attempting to recover files from formatted and/or post-MFT-destruction conditions have been more on the San Andreas post-quake & tsunami level.

Roland, thanks for the bad but realistic news. I'm currently using EaseUS and it had "found" a lost drive and many files, but most of them are "empty". But the saving grace is that there are some pictures which are viewable and thus are recoverable! I hope this also occur to pdf and docs as I go through the tedious job of checking which ones are good.
I can share the blame for this mishap with Lenovo who calls a factory reset a "recovery", and my misfortune of working on a colleague's PC which is in a foreign language. He also did not have a disk, and my on-line query resulted in using Lenivo's OKR. My part of the blame goes for hurrying to a solution instead of looking further at finding a recovery disk or the restore function from Bios.

"...What do you think of sending out the HD to a professional?" That might be workable, I really do not know because I have only read on The 'Net and have never sent a HDD in -- because I have dual backups for each of my two laptops.
