Lenovo won't turn on with battery, without battery turn on!

Hi!

I have lenovo ideapad g585gc 59-356202 e1-1200, dvdrw, 4gb, 500gb, radeon hd 7310m, 15.6" led, ....
Almost 2 years old.
Yesterday it didn't want to turn on, and then I took out the battery and try without it and then turned on and everything is ok.

So,
1. with battery (with or without ac power) won't turn on
2. without battery (of course, with ac power) turn on

The problem is evidently in the battery. I want to buy a new one, but how can I be sure that the battery is really dead?

There are no good practical ways the average owner can test the battery. You have to go on the evidence.

To answer you in a few words the battery if let run flat a few times will wreck the internal composition of the lithium ion make up and the other thing is it may just be a rogue battery they are cheap enough now to just replace it.

It is best never to let the battery get below a third charge or at least quarter charge. In any case lithium ion batteries actually deteriorate from the day they are manufactured so even if never used can be become useless and I think I am correct in saying that can be as low as three years.

I know what the issue is lol it happens to all Lenovo's

I have a Lenovo A8 Tablet the only fix i know of is to press the power button hold it down for 10 seconds and repeat till it comes on

The best thing to do is keep it above 30% Battery and recharge you let it go all the way down it suffers also keep in mind most of the Lenovos use Intel CPU technology so that can be one of the issues power delivery

Only solution is to get a new battery - if that matters. This thing is dead. If the battery is connected the laptop is trying to get power from it. If this laptop is stationary, you may very well live without a battery.

Thanks Solar basically what I was trying to tell the OP personally I think the battery is kaput and needs replacing..

PS and as whs has aid about living without it I use mine on mains power at all times except for very rare occasions.
