Solved Link temp and power or not

So the new card has different settings that my old card didn't. Should I link the Power limit and Temp target? I can play and see, just curious how everyone else sets them.

I keep mine linked.

With the fan profile set to auto, I hit the power limit long before the temp limit.

The max temp that I have seen during benchmarking is about 75C.

I always unlink them and prioritize temp target when benching but 24/7 it's left linked. It all depends on how your card behaves I suppose mate

I agree Unlinked is best because when they are linked one limits the other

Yeah Doug, I am the same as Ryan and Solar. When benching I set my power target to max and temp target to 92C with the temp target being priority. It never gets anywhere near 92C though.

And my custom bios allows for a 200% power target so it never throttles the card back. The way I understand it, once it hits your power target then the card will drop down in speed and therefore reduce your benchmark score. Of course there is no need for it to drop down in speed unless your temps are getting too high, but in my case temps never get too high and I see a 110% power target as a limiting factor hence the custom bios.

I don't know if any of that just made sense but there you have it lol.
