hi there,

yeah I bet you guys are getting very annoyed by people posting for help about this.
Normally I can fix things but after 3 days of troubleshooting I can't get it to work.

I have the servererror: 0x80048820.
I tried all the things I found on google; check lan settings, reset & restore internet settings, Manually tried to add email, temporarily disable AV (AVG), format c & reinstall w7 etc etc.

The last seemed to work but I was forced to reinstall back to factory settings of my laptop due to other problems. after I did that and used the recovery drive to go back to the factory image everything worked fine. All mail addresses worked again.

After a while (hour or so?) it stopped working. My mail folder and mails where synced and I have the feeling that after this it stops working.

I use the latest version of windows live essential 2012 V16.4.3503.0728 (<-as it says in programs and features)

On my other laptop everything works fine. This uses another version but I also tried downgrading so that's not it. System specs of that system are all the same except for some memory and a other video card.

my laptop specs:

Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM processor
OS: Authentieke Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Clock Frequency: 2,2 GHz
Memory size: 8 GB DDR3 1333 MHz
Videocard: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX670M 1,5 GB GDDR5

Once again I know there are a lot of threads on the web about this but I just can't find the solution for my system.

formatting my C is just no option and there must be an easy fix for this...right? :p

I hope you guys can help me out. Thanks in advance!

-W

ps.
1. I can acces my mail just fine through the web.
2. In account settings of live account added my laptop to trusted system.

Have you install any Anti-Virus at your system? Try temporarily disabling real-time protection and see if it'll let you connect. It may be possible the firewall blocked your WLM after an update.

I tried both. But unfortunately this doesn't resolve the problem.

Thx for the reply. It feels like I'm standing alone with this problem. :p

That thread is from 2010. As far as I know hotmail wasn't doing anything with outlook.

I meant that when you access your mail on the web ( which works fine). Hotmail has a whole new interface and it seems this is from outlook. I think this is somehow the problem.

And it's a NEW problem because when I started having the problem they undergone the change
