Live Mail Address Display

I recently bought a Windows Seven computer and am switching from Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail for the first time.

I am very frustrated because I can not find out how to get my main page (inbox, message display, mail folders, etc) to display a list of my contacts. Is this possible? I have tried the various layout functions but they dont include the handy address book down the side as in Outlook express.

What used to be a one-click option to create a new email to an address now requires a click on Contacts, scroll down the list, single click the address, single click send email, then close the box. Only Microsoft could "improve" a programs by turning a one-click operation into four.

Another associated piece of stupidity is that when in Contacts, if you double-click the address, it Edits Contact rather than Sends Mail. How often does a user edit the address vs. sending an email.

Any fixes to this problem? I am ready to go back to Outlook Express. Thanks,
bruce

If you click the To: box in a new message window it opens up your list of contacts for you to choose from. From there you have quick acess to all your contacts to start your e-mail.

Thanks! I was aware of that, but still would much prefer to have my contacts displayed, if anyone knows how to accomplish that.

The fastest way I found is to click on Contacts and when I place the curser over a contact a small window will appear that has two choices: "Send email" or "Edit contact". I just click on Send email and it opens. Thats the best I can find for what you want.

Thanks for your help, but if anyone has figured out how to display your contacts on the main page, I would love to know how.
