locating hidden files

hi all. currently in the process of loading old programs and files onto new copy of windows 7 and im stuck with my music. ive already transferred the majority of it over from vista but i have a folder with 30gb on an external (WD) hard drive. the folder in question appears hidden if i load vista and i can access the files, (as i have copied them to my ex. hd ready to move to 7)

problem is, when in windows 7 the folder doesnt appear anywhere on the hard drive. there is no option in preferences that i can see to view 'hidden' files.

any help appreciated

Control panel(small icon view)>folder options>View>show hidden files.

See if that works.

Minotar is right. But, if you still can't see your folder, you can try disabling the option "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" in the same window that Minotar said before.
