Lock screen after specific app quit : How to?

i wanted to use for a screensaver that can't be used normally (incompatibility on x64 systems..) but it i input the screensaver location it will launch.. its settings! And if i make a shortcut of it, it'll directly go to lock screen :(
That's on page 1, explaining why i'm needing this.

May I just ask what kind of programming guru you are, Goja? I mean, the geeks who have made that screensaver didn't get it to work on x64 systems so they tell users it is not x64 compatible. But you have decided to make it run on x64.

When are you going to realize it will not happen.

Goja, this is a bit pathetic already. If the program is not compatible with x64, your tricks will not help. You need to understand that. You need to do some really serious coding to change the program.

Nothing personal but judging from your posts you don't have very much programming experience; if I am wrong and you really are a guru in coding, please could I send some older 16 and 32 bit software I have and which according to publisher are not x64 compatible for you to re-program, to make them x64 compatible? I of course would pay for you if you were willing to this for me.

First, I always try to think both OP's, the forums, future readers of this thread and my own best when responding. In this case it means you could already have a working solution using some other screensaver if you had used you time for something productive instead of this. As future readers of this thread, I feel it is important to make it quite clear that if even the publisher of the program says his product is not compatible, you need to re-code it; no trick will help.

Second, I was serious with my offer. If you really are a coder who can fix compatibility issues when publisher of the program can't, I would gladly pay you to convert two of my favorite games. I can no longer play them because they do not work on x64 systems and I no longer have any x86 machines or operating systems.

The app might not originally work for x64 systems, cause of a broken link in the code or whatever it can be, but if you try hard, there's always a way to find a solution or an alternative. Don't you know that? See, i already found a way to launch it after a defined inactivity period. No trick will help, uh?

Only remaining thing is how to make screen lock once it quit. Thanks for trying to discouraging others by saying "even the dev said it's not compatible" which by the way i'd like to know where you got that public statement? Once again, shouldn't have and shouldn't be posting in here since you think nothing can be done. You won't discourage me. If you wanna answer this, do it in private, no more off thread please!

You told yourself that app is not app x64 compatible, and that the developer has stopped working with it.

The bit architecture is not just "a broken link in the code or whatever", using your words. Forcing an app to do something it is not designed to do, work in an environment where it is not supposed to work, you make it unstable at best. It might allow you to trick it to work with reduced features, as we have already heard from you, but it is also possible that one of these days the incompatibility is going to bite you in form of unexpected errors or crashes.

As a member here at the Seven Forums we are equals: I do not have the powers to restrict you from posting, and you are not able to restrict me. If you feel I have offended you there's red triangle with an exclamation mark on each of my posts; clicking it and typing the reason for reporting you can report a post to admins and mods who will then deal with it.

In your original post you had a question, for which I gave a valid answer in my first post. David suggested the screensacer /s switch on post #12 making the answer you have got to your original issue complete.

I looked at this thread last night and was debating whether or not to have a look due to Goja's attitude but today I decided I would have a quick look before I checked this thread, which I now see he has been banned but I thought I would post my info anyway.

I now can't verify if "AlbumArtScreensaver-1.0.1-beta13.exe" from "Crayon Room - Album Art Screensaver for Windows" was the screensaver he was trying or a good alternative but I have read his other thread - http://www.sevenforums.com/general-...eensaver-x64-system-fix-any-alternatives.html and it looks the same as the one Bongo tried, post #3, same info in the About box, bottom right.

Anyway I installed it in Win7 x64 and it worked just fine, the same as any other screensaver even though the .scr file was in SysWOW64. I didn't actually test displaying album art because I was only testing if it could be selected under Personalize > Screensaver and the timeout worked, which with a 1min timeout it worked.

Even though Bongo also had problems in the other thread, post #13, I came to the conclusion that if it was this screensaver then there is another reason why it would not work, not x64 incompatibilty.

Too bad Goja did not have a better attitude.
