I have a couple of .jpg files which cannot be opened, moved or deleted. When I try to do anything with them Windows tells me that the file is open in PaintShop Pro. It might have been long, long ago but certainly isn't now.

Is there any way I can unlock these files or, failing that, just get rid of them?

Use Unlocker to delete them.

If that don't work try "move on boot." Search for it on the net, it's free. Sorry I don't have the URL
right now.

Is there any way I can unlock these files...
As has been mentioned, a tool named Unlocker might work for you.

It might be able to unlock the files without the need to delete them.

If need be, Unlocker can try and delete them.

If Unlocker fails to delete files, it offers to setup those files for deletion upon reboot.

You need to be careful not to install the junk that Unocker's installer offers. See this post.
