PLEASE READ. I need help
To start this whole thing, I'm not sure exactly what I did. I downloaded "Toolwiz Care," and used all I could to fix my computer(before I was just slow and hadn't been urned on in 5 years). There are two thing that might have done it(I'll get to a list of things in a few) was the registry cleaner or the startup optimizer. I didn't check to see if system restore was on before any of this, so I had no restore points. For the obvious reasons is why I think the registry cleaner might of had something to do with it. But the startup optimizer is because about 20 services and processes dont stay on. They start then stop. I've tried going back, and restarting them, on msconfig, and services, and the startup optimizer. Nothing. One of them is windows diagnostics.

I can't run troubleshooter.
I have no Internet access.
Media player won't run.
Sound doesn't work, not even with headphones.
iTunes won't work.
When I log on after a reboot, I have a notpad document called desktop.ini, two of them automatically open.
That's all of the problems ive noticed.

Things I've tried:
System restore
And every method of boot setup there is.
I don't have a restore disk, I got the computer with windows already installed.
No computer with access to the Internet and a disk burner.
No USB flash drive.
Tried updating drivers. No go
I've tried fixes for some of the individual problems, but that list is too long. I've been trying nonstop since the 16th(the day I messed up everything) ANY IDEAS ARE APPRECIATED. I need help, my girlfriend I and I enrolling in online school.

If youwant more details, just comment.

Go into your start menu, go to all programs, go to accessories, right click command prompt, click run as administrator, accept the dialog box (or type in your administrator password if you are a standard user), type into the command prompt sfc /scannow. This will try to repair the system files. Keep running it until you stop getting errors or until you keep getting the same error. We'll go from there.

Also, does toolwiz have an option to undo changes it makes? That would be the best way to fix your problem.

Edit: Or if toolwiz creates a registry backup, that would also help. You could find the .reg file and just double click it, and that would set the registry back to its previous state.

Yes toolwiz creates a backup, and I've used it, but it only fixed so many problems. It's hard for me to believe all my problems are coming from that. Its jus the only lead i have. And the system scan says no errors, "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations". But nothing still works.

I installed toolwiz to check it out. The program is very suspect to me. It does not automatically create a backup from my experience, and it doesn't automatically create a restore point, nor does it ask you if you want to create a backup before it runs the registry cleaner. The developers seem to have assumed that their program would likely not make a mistake, which is a bit arrogant to me. All of the trusted software I have ever used for registry cleaning has a way to roll back any registry changes if need be. I used CCleaner to create a registry backup before running toolwiz so I knew my registry could be restored afterward.

I would highly suggest staying away from using toolwiz for optimizing your computer in the future, and avoid any registry editors for Windows 7. Many of the members here tell people to stay clear of any registry cleaning on Windows 7 because it usually causes more harm than anything else.

As to your problem. If it is a registry problem you are having, sfc /scannow probably will not help. If you did backup your registry before cleaning it and restored that registry file, then it may help. I am guessing, however, that you will need to restore your system to factory settings after backing up your vital files. What company built your machine?

Which Windows 7 do you have (Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate)? You can find the version by right clicking My Computer and clicking Properties. Do you have the key for Windows 7?

I can't download anything, no Internet.
I don't have antivirus, is there a way to find malware another way? It had norton, but it's trial was over and it wasn't even scanning.

To find malware any other way is a very complicated process and requires the internet to determine which processes/services are suspect. Do you have a USB flash drive you could save Malwarebytes onto from the computer you are currently using?

How did you receive a homemade computer with Windows 7 already installed? Is there someone you could get the key from?

Alright, let's worry about getting Windows 7 for a clean install later. Does the computer you are on have a USB drive?

Well, has a lot of Alienware logos on it, does that help?

It may, but first you would need to back up your data onto an external drive or onto DVDs. I'd like to see if we can fix the problem first, though.

Can you get a USB flash drive (buy one, borrow one) and use it to save Malwarebytes onto from this computer to transfer to your computer?
