Looking to Upgrade LGA775 Processor

That will work well for you too, we were trying to save you a shekel or two. Be quick on getting a Z77 board they are going fast.

Got this from a vending machine in my workplace in Van Buren, Arkansas. Could be an interesting story on how it got here.

I went to Microcenter yesterday, and the 4770k and 3770k were the same price, so I figured I might as well get the newer one. It also had a really nice combo deal that saved me over $30 when I bought the motherboard as well (ASUS Z87-A). Now, I'm trying to find RAM. I found one stick of PNY 8 GB 1600 MHz RAM for $62, which is the cheapest I could find it.

Are there advantages to running RAM in dual-channel mode? I'm trying to minimize future upgrade costs by getting one stick of RAM so all I'd need to do is add more later, but then again Win 7 HP only recognizes up to 16 GB, so getting 2 sticks of 4 GB (and later another 2 if I need them) might not be a bad idea if dual-channel mode ups the performance.

PNY is decent ram but honestly if you are getting 8GB Dual channel will serve you will 2x4GB is plenty i would go with ram that has XMP listed on the package it also offers better performance

I know Microcenter is one of my main store i go to i am sure you can find 8GB of Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz for what you are paying for one stick and they will perform better too

you are not kidding wow it has gone up http://www.microcenter.com/product/...l_Desktop_Memory_Kit_(Two_4GB_Memory_Modules)

have you looked on Newegg.com or Frys electronics ?

Still on the lookout for reasonably-priced RAM.

I'm thinking about SLI'ing my old QuadroFX 3700 with a GTX 660. I'm new to SLI, so how should I set it up?

I don't know if you could do that with a Quadro and 660 one may have to be dedicated to PhysX

Quadro is a workstation card after some reading i found out you can not because they use two different style drivers

I see no equivalent Quadro to the GTX 660 but if I were you i'd get another GTX 660 and sli them or use the GTX 660 as PhysX processor.
