Ive look all over and it seems that only the 32bit Win7 will run this? I dont have the expansion pack (BfME2) installed yet.

All i get are the two splash screens and the 2nd core of my CPU goes to 100% and it just hangs until i stop it.

I have played and am still enjoying playing LOTR Battle for Middle Earth. I play it on my Intel Core i7 4790 Windows 64. It plays without problems. The LOTR game is the one with the Gondor's big circular castle and the farms & buildings are all built inside. The game seems to be magnified a little on Windows 7 64. But when I played it on my Windows XP 32- Service pack 3 computer I could see almost the entire castle, which means that the zooming display on the XP was wider than the zooming display shown on Windows 7, which I have to constantly pan or side sweep the map left, right or up down to keep track with the game. There is only zooming in for a bit but no further zooming out. There is also 360 rotation but no plane tilt, and that's about it. There is also another difference with the screen interface. The monitor is widescreen but the LOTR game only fills 3 quarter of the screen, whereas in the old 4.3 monitor screen the game is as per original. I do see the game in the widescreen monitor a little stretched but not noticeable. However, the scenery of the game is more enjoyable on my widescreen monitor.

I am writing this to let you know that the LOTR game and many others games such as Delta Force - Blackhawk Down, Conflict Vietnam and Baghdad, Arma 1 and 2, Men of War 2007, etc., are quite playable on the Windows 7 64, not only on 32 bit.

I don't know if this will work or not, but I had a hell of a time getting BF2 to work in Windows 7. What solved it was the remarkable run the setup installer as Admin. Do the same for all the patches as well. If someone here still has issues with a game like BF2 or what ever, it could be your old profile folder in My Documents. In there are resolution settings that can cause issues or need adjusting to match your display.

So with that, I hope my experience with BF2 can help. Oh! You can still play BF2. Go here if interested, then download the great AIX mod. BF2Hub.com

You can buy it on eBay. In fact, I bought the complete CD set with all the mods from a guy in Norway. Took a couple weeks to get here, but worth it IMO. I mainly play BF2 with the free AIX mod downloadable on the Internet. The AIX mod is comprised of two parts: the core mod, and the core maps. There are also a ton of other maps you can install, but in my usage some maps didn't play well.

The AIX mod makes BF2 play the way it should have played. The missiles actually follow and nail the enemy plane. All it takes is two hits and your shot down. In plain vanilla BF2 the missiles seemed to always veer off and miss their target about 60% of the time. Very annoying.

I love playing as the Special Forces solider. In your kit you have remote detonated C4 and timed bombs. I like to use the timed bombs on tanks and APC's so I ensure they blow up should I die. With the remote detonated C4, you have to back away to a relative safe place and press the button. In the mean time, you run the risk of getting killed and your effort might fail. I'll use it on strategic targets, or when I run out of timed bombs. The Special Forces solider has the capability of taking out tanks/APCs and strategic objects all the while carrying a great gun with stopping power. Did I mention the AIX mod adds head shot capability? Yes, true one shot one kills unlike vanilla BF2.

The Special Forces solider also carries in his kit a grappling hook to scale up to roofs and what not (great as a safe haven and a strategic advantage), and a crossbow to fire off an arrow with a rope attached to zip line to lower elevations and from roof top to roof top. You can truly stealth your way around. In the Special Forces mod for BF2, the grappling hook, crossbow, night vision and a gas mask is used. Which is why AIX has the capability, but no gas mask or night vision which would be nice.

BF2, even with a mod like AIX or Forgotten Hope, etc is no why like the BF3 and 4 they have now, but it's still fun to play. Here's my stats. GameTracker.com : Player Page for Gh0stplayer

I'll have to share my video of the A-10. The gun is awesome! I thought I had a video of me in the A-10 on YouTube. I'll make one here some time. In the mean time, check out my F-22 in FSX doing mach 1.50 and flying under bridges in Manhattan. :roflmao:

Play back is jerky in FSX. I customized that F-22 with new avionics and sounds.
