Solved Low Disk Space: C Drive is Filling Up

Hello all, sorry if this is crude, but i just joined.
Recently, about 1-2 months ago, my disk space on my C drive started filling up rapidly. I was not aware until 1&1/2 weeks ago of this when i got a warning from my computer. I have tried to delete unnecessary programs but i have around 50 programs downloaded, taking a HUGE 1.17 gb of my 112 gb C drive space. I have stopped system restore, and deleted all of my temporary files, and yet the memory is still (slower now) filling up.
Any ideas as to what may be causing this? Any remedies? i got this samsung laptop at Christmas, more proof that it isn't word documents or anything like that.
I would also ask that you dumb the terminology down, and extrapolate as much as possible please.

I can not download that file. My c drive is all filled up now, i tried restarting and that gave me 20 MB of free space, but then it just filled up in two seconds. Any help would be appreciated, has anyone else experienced problems like this before?

Ok, some how some more space opened up on my drive, and i downloaded the program. turns out that my security software(which doesn't even work) had a debug folder 79GB in size. deleted the s#%$ out of that, and now i have much more free space, thank you very very much.

Get rid of the software. If it's your anti-virus, I would suggest install Microsoft Security Essentials.

1.17GB today isn't a lot, and neither is 112GB capacity. Most computers/hardrives manufactured in the past 5 years haven't had a capacity that low, unless it's a SSD. You need a serious upgrade, or think about getting an external hardrive to save your files on. You can get a 500GB drive for less than $100 USD. You may want to consider that inexpensive option, which also saves a hassle of upgrading to a new hardrive.
