I would try some older drivers for your graphics card. Do some research and see what others are running the game with and reporting good performance. Also make sure directx and other drivers are up-to-date. Lastly I don't know if i'd call your setup "high-end" as the 5700 series is getting dated and you do have a "budget" processor but regardless the games should still be more than playable at decent settings.

Yea I no tht card isn't great but its good enough for now. The processors is cheap but does as good as others for same price I only paid £400 in total for whole system. The system it self is brilliant. Just need to sort graphics what fps should I be looking at getting with this setup? Also how do I check what others are using where they have no problem? What could I do to improve my system just a better gcard? And few more ram?

Thanks for help

A good solid gaming card would definitely help.

On the other hand, WoW is known to bring AMD CPUs to it's knees.

Here's what a writer @ Tom's Hardware had to say about WoW and AMD CPUs:

Although every single benchmark result on this page is generated with the help of a GeForce GTX 480, frame rates drop under 40 FPS on the Athlon II X2 system. There's simply not enough processing horsepower in the Athlon II or Phenom II lineups to let our graphics card stretch its legs.
CPU Scaling: AMD : World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm--Tom's Performance Guide

The AMD Athlon II X4 640 only managed around ~40 FPS even when using a high end card such as the GTX 480. So the fact that you're experiencing low FPS issues in WoW isn't surprising.

In comparing Intel CPUs such as the i3 530 and i5 655K (low end dual cores) had no trouble passing the 60 FPS mark (even the super popular AMD Phenom II X6 1090T @ 3.7 GHz could barely make it past ~60 FPS).

You also mentioned some FPS games... Which ones?

May or may not help but you don't have the sound drivers installed, it is running on the default Windows driver.

No idea what motherboard you have as the dxdiag log doesn't show it, but the DevID for the digital audio was enough to find that it has the Via 1708S HD Audio on it. Unfortunately Via seems to be down at the moment,

http://www.via.com.tw/en/resources/download-center/

but you can find what should be a compatible driver for it from here (never used it but my motherboard has the same Via audio on it),

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Motherboards - ASUS M4A78 PRO

Just click on Download and select Windows 7 64 bit, then under Audio go for either the beta or the other one. Probably not as new as whatever is currently on Via (can try it later), but should at least get you the sound drivers installed.

P.S. The HDMI audio one is for the built in Audio on your ATI card, and it doesn't have its driver either. Not a problem unless you are sending audio over HDMI from the card.

I use the HDMI on my gcard to play and listen to sound, which one shall i download then, would sound really make it jittery and lower fps?

thanks for helping

No help really- but ya sound can be probs- I read its near half of game probs and over half of them is using in game eax- Most I read its said best to turn it off even tho your sound may support it.

A lot of the times a game bugs out- Folks think its video what ever- it was the sound all the time- Start looping what ever makes it bug out freeze etc- That is even with up to date drivers and all working perfect- it can just bug out- So I would guess with out or not right drivers could cause it probs for sure- Might it be your exact probs- I cant say- it might be part of it tho.

Hope you get it right- Wish ya the best..

Wow cool thats somthing new to me =]

Ill give it a try later shall i download all the sound drivers from above? i use the HDMI port on my gard, no idea what i need really sorry!

Sad about via sound- But if you have to goto the via site its some nice folks there- 1 of my buds is a mod there mr chris. He or any will help ya if needed- a bud from the gone now abit usa forums.

If your mobo is asus- they should have the drivers- I am not sure what to say if your vid card also does your sound- I guess you have to ati for them.

Stormy seems to be able to hook ya up tho..

Sorry I can not really help ya..

If you are doing the sound over the vid card- you say hdmi I guess the latest ati drivers for the vid card should do it- I have never had such a vid card- but I would guess it is all together in 1 package or download- I would not think it is 2 downloads 1 sound 1 video- I can be wrong tho-

I am not sure how to tell ya what to delete first after you have the drivers - You would want to delete video and sound drivers first- then install the new- I have no idea what setting changes you might need to make- I would guess starting a thread at asus site would get ya the best answers faster being their mobo and all..

Try going to the ati site look for the latest drivers and check out the read me etc- It should tell ya exactly what they are and for and if sound is included etc. You will have to read a lil bit- but it might help and learn ya something too.

If or when you do fix it- please post back and tell us what you did to fix it- so maybe the next person down the line can be helped or faster..

Thanks..

Ha ha ya- That is why game read me's or say tweak guide says install and update all drivers- Sound is part of that and can cause probs..

Keep at it- You will figure it out- be gaming hard all happy and such- I hope so for ya- Ha ha..

I use the HDMI on my gcard to play and listen to sound, which one shall i download then

If you installed the latest driver for your video card from AMD (which from your log appears to be what you have),

ATI Radeon

then it should have installed the audio driver for it as well, as it is included,

catinstall.png

If you still have it (or if not download it again from the above link) I would run the Catalyst install again and when it asks whether to do an express or custom install, select custom and make sure that the HDMI audio driver is being installed.

Also if you're not using the onboard audio and only using HDMI, then you can go into the bios and disable it. May or may not help but it removes it from being a possible source of conflict with the HDMI audio.
