I think the computer automatically uses that partition for backup, I was just hoping I could use it to go back to when it was uncluttered.

There are two conversations going on. The OP and I are talking about system image and restore points, not the HP recovery.

Agreed .. But it sounds like the HP recovery partition is confusing him.
That's a different Procedure .. Purpose
