Hi guys,

My computer sometimes when booted and logged in loads nothing, says I'm connected to the internet but the internet doesn't work and I'm forced to restart my computer since no programs load up and I can't get on the internet. When I restart my computer, it doesn't shut down and I am forced to hard restart it using the shut down button. My internet browsing has also been pretty slow the last few weeks, sometimes pages just load endlessly then out of nowhere will load really quickly. (ex. If I have multiple tabs open they will all just load and load then all of the sudden all load at the same time) Note: When my internet browsers won't load other programs on my computer like Skype or games are working perfectly fine.

I am sometimes able to just log in to my computer account and get going, and my computer will even shut down if I shut it down. Other times, I get it where it doesn't load any programs on my computer and the internet won't work so i'm forced to restart and that may/may not fix it.

The slow internet loading thing happens regardless.

I have ran a full virus scan and nothing came up.

hi ICit2lol, thanks for the reply. I'm doing the system file checker and disk check now since occasionally my computer tells me to scan my C drive on boot up, which I did, but maybe there's something deeper in that's wrong with it. I'll update you, thanks again.

Ok Brian the two checks at the start are just for the system files really but I find a good starting point and I do things by elimination instead of immediately looking for the worst case and in depth scenarios as sometimes it can be the simplest things and saves alot of work scouring around for some disastrous problem.

Now what we wold like to know is what is scanning the drive on boot is your security? as most have scan settings that dictate when certain scans like a full one or custom ones are set to be run. For example my Kaspersky is set to full system scan once a week and the custom every time a device is attached - USB sticks external drives or following definition updates etc. So it in itself is a curiosity for me.
Yes just about every one of us in here use CCleaner and it is very good - well done for having that on board. The thing to remember with it is to save the cookies which are linked to sites you have passwords with ie seven forums as then you don't have to keep logging in when going on the site especially from a link in a reply in the email you get.
The registry you can scan but when it finds stuff out of whack for whatever reason you MUST back up the results to usually documents before you fix them. That way if the fix results in problems you can reinstate them from documents.
It is also a good idea to back up the entire registry - I find anyway directly after an install and when it is running sweet so it can be brought back should things go ape later on. To do that:
Start > type regedit > right click the blue reference > run as admin > click File > export and I name the backup and date it and save mine to Documents but you can put it literally anywhere - desktop for example, or a stick.

Sorry for such a long reply and if you know this already bt I thought I would throw those inas a general tip of mine:)

John
