Hi Max, :D

i've read your thread & post regarding Comodo Firewall & using it with no problem. But i want to ask a question how can i stealth or close the ports which are still open, when recently ran an nline scan & was shocked to find 3-4 ports are still open inspite of using Comodo Firewall & couple of them are not supposed to be open (as also recommended by the site). How can i fix this issue any proggram or can it done through Comodo Firewall???

Sunimar- The Comodo Firewall has a Stealth Ports Wizard which features an option to 'Block all incoming connections and make my ports stealth for everyone'.

Not to hijack the thread, but since Max is the expert on Comodo, I also have a question: ccSvcHst, I'll get that a lot in Defense+. I'm not really sure what it is, so I just click Ok or Accept. Should I?

Sunimar- One of the things that has made Comodo great security software in such a relatively short time is the intense level of user participation in that the more computer geeks there are trying to find bugs the better the software will become. It is this kind of intense scrutiny that has made the Comodo Firewall strong and will eventually make it even stronger.

The Devs have become notorious for not communicating so don't be too surprised if you don't get a personal communication from them about your bug report. If you are worried about some personal settings causing problems in your Comodo Firewall you can always remove any settings that you are suspicious of or even reprogram the settings from scratch in Custom Policy Mode.

The ccsvchst.exe file is automatically added to your computer upon installing the Norton software, and it is referred to as the Symantec Service Framework. The ccsvchst.exe file works to display the GUI (Graphical User Interface) of Norton products, which usually include the Norton Security Suites. If the ccsvchst.exe file encounters a problem, the Norton’s graphical interface will only be displayed after the computer has been rebooted.

Almost all Norton products come bundled with the ccsvchst.exe file. It is important for this file to be found with the installation of these software products since the user interface is where the user interacts with the computer are made possible by this file.

The developers at Comodo are constantly working to improve CIS so that everyone will be able to continue to have access to this free highly effective computer security suite which has over 1,000,000 new downloads each month.

Thanks! One more question, how do I let a website through the Secure DNS? The website I use to watch movies/tv online if I miss an episode has been blocked by SecureDNS. I followed the instructions on their site to turn it off, but I don't think I want to do that each time.

EchoX860- I have never used Comodo DNS so I can't answer your question although you could definitely be able to get the answer your questions over at the Comodo Forums.

Hey Maxx!!!! :geek:
Mate i want to know in what different ways can i get the maximum from my Comodo??? In other words what are the settings that'll make my Comodo work like Champ (it does even now) as it is 1 HELL program that got many options & settings... So i want to make sure that it can give its 101%, ofcourse apart from other security steps taken by me!!!

Thank You!!!

Sunimar- One thing you could do is go 'Old School' and disable the Comodo Sandbox which places Comodo's top rated HIPS in control of desktop security instead of the Automatic Sandbox which lets programs run in the Sandbox until the next reboot to cut way down on Defense+ alerts for those who are not yet familiar with how to respond when Defense+ running the Desktop. This is the recommended configuration for experienced Comodo users and is considered an even higher level of computer security.
