OK, so I have all my Media stored on drives that are in a Vista Ultimate 32 Machine on my network. One Drive for music, one for DVDs and recoreded TV.

I connected my extender (Linksys DMA 2200) to the W7 machine and all is OK at first glance. but when I manage my library, I go to add folders from "both locations" (Local and Network drives). I am given my network PCs, but when I select the little "+" sign, it tells me there are no shared folders on the network PCs?

I know what your thinking, "This guy has permissions issues..." but I am pretty sure that is not the case, as I had the exact senario working on Vista, and on the local W7 machine when I run Media Center, I can get access to those folders perfectly?

Is there a home group issue there or something? I added those folders to my homegroup "library" but still no luck, and I enabled media sharing to all devices on my network from the W7 machine?

Anyone else doing this succesfully?

Is your media coming from a networked PC? or from a file on your PC that is streaming to the 360? If from a network PC, is it running W7 or Vista?

I can see media on the PC streaming to the Extender... that works fine

That what I was afraid of... I am wondering if The MCE uses some thing in that whole homegroup scheme? but I don't want to install it on the vista machine to find out...

Its just strange that it works on the PC but not one the extender...

anyone doing this with vista? I have released all the permissions on the drives, and they are all full read/write control...

gah, I had this problem too but for the life of me I can't remember how I fixed it. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the Network and Sharing center. I'll try and remember and post back.
