I bought a new flash drive (Sandisk Cruzer Glide 16gb) and Media player doesn't pick it up. It shows up in windows explorer and I can copy to and from it but media player won't show it so that I can sync music to it.

WMP only 'knows' what's in Pictures, Music and Videos. You have to move the files there or play then from explorer. You can also trick it by using this folder: C:\Users\Public\Recorded TV\Sample Media

I figured out that Sandisk made their drives show up as local drives and not removable drives. Therefore they can't be used to sync music to. Found an old post on another forum where Sandisk website suggest returning the drive to store and getting one that is not Windows 8 compatible as the only solution since you cannot change to removable storage.
