Hey guys, Mediaplayer is being a dick again.
This time it is taking the music i have sorted into folders by Artist and inside the Artist folder contains Albums and then inside Albums is the Album music for that album.

Now Mediaplayer has gone back to copying the music from the "albums" (Whichever album it may be) and making copies in the Music folder (The default Music folder) but i didn't ask it to.

I can't remove those copies because when i do it erases the music from both the Music directory it copies it to AND the album folder. (Even if i move the album folder to a new part of the system it will still erase it).

How do i stop this? I don't want this as i have a LOT of music and want to keep it organized my way. Not windows's way.

This is what it is doing:

This is how it should be:

Thanks guys
Your help is greatly appreciated

Hi,
According to your first screen shot My Music has 5 Locations which would account for possible duplicates,
Click on the 5 Locations link and review the locations your library and wmp is pulling music from,
Cheers.

No...
There's Library -> My Music = Default location
Then there's the Artist Name on a folder that contains the albums for that artist
Then there's the albums

I'm confused to what your saying, I can't make what you said make any sense....

There are no duplicate files when i put the in the folders but wmp MADE duplicates, It didn't make duplicates of all the music but all my Taio Cruz music was duplicated by wmp into the default my music folder and the files are linked to each other so if i erase one it erases both, if i erase all the files it erases all the files in the album folder as well.

Hi,
According to this there are 5 locations,

By default there are supposed to be 2 My Music and Public music.

Same goes for wmp,
But of course it reads what ever locations that are included in your windows 7 libraries ;)

Right click the Libraries listing on the left column and click on Restore default Libraries,

Right click the Libraries listing on the left column and click on Restore default Libraries,

I don't understand why there's 5 locations, I haven't added any locations.
I tried the restore default libraries and nothing changed.

Solved that problem.
Thanks :D

I opened up the Locations and simply removed the Taio Cruz locations that somehow got added.
Fixed :)

But happy none the less :)
