Ok guys, Think have found my error [HRESULT = 0x80004005 - E_FAIL]...

From CBS.log:
"CBS Failed. Attempted to uninstall a version of a non-driver component that is not installed, version: 0X600011db04001, component: x86_microsoft-windows-mail-core-dll_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_585517a9869db81d, owner: Microsoft-Windows-Client-Features-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.7600.16385.Microsoft-Windows-Client-Features-Update [HRESULT = 0x80004005 - E_FAIL]"

Looks like it means that Windows 7 SP1 (leaked Wave1) try to uninstall the previous version of the x86 msoe.dll 6.1.7600.16385, but this .dll had been updated during april 2010 through W.U to (see screenshot) to x86 v6.1.7600.16543...(but why W7 SP1 try to uninstall such previous.dll when a new one is???)

I think i've backup the previous .dll before reinstate the windows mail. I'll try that later the time to access to my backup drive.

So after shutting down my computer and starting up again today, I can definitely say there are optional updates, as I just got a slew of them, for my monitor, MSSE, my ethernet, etc.

It seems "17514" is the leaked version according to Airbot's initial post in this thread.

By all accounts, this does appear to be the official RTM.

As to the "101119-1850" part, I can't find that in the registry.

Folks,decide one way or the other! Is this final the real final or is there going to be another final after this "so-called final" finally! I managed Five "finals" in one sentence!

The reason being,today i shifted from Win.7 professional to ultimate and FIFTY FIVE essential updates came down the chute and the internet connection (DSL) went for a toss! I did a system restore way back to the caveman days and resurrected the connectivity!

Now i am trying to be selective in downloading updates. That's a farce, b'cause i don't know which are the critical ones and which are not! For the time being i am blind-folding myself to "optionals" though i know there may/will be driver updates among them! Any help will be most gratefully and eagerly grabbed! Thank you.

As it's a leak, with no official wording, we cannot say this is the RTM, but as a forum group intelligence, we are pretty sure it is, unless some major bug comes up in the intervening months.

I think the name of this thread needs to be changed, since MS has denied the RTM being released to OEM vendors.

Today a German tech writer said that it was confirmed that this was the "official" SP1. He went on to say that Microsoft distributed it to partners too today, but he listed no sources.

All we have to base it on is his rep (10+ years in the business, and regarded as one of the top German reporters on MS is what I hear)

Out of curiosity, why did you use DxDiag and not MGADiag and the registry key for "Current Version"? For what it's worth, my DxDiag shows 6.01.7601.17514, as well.

What's your Win 7 build number showing?

Perhaps someone could explain how one gets mgadiag to work? All I get is an error that Windows can't find it.

Thank you all for the replies! So, i went Googling! No hint that the final has been officially released by MS! You are all BIG GUYS in this thread and i feel like a MIDGET! My gut feeling is they(MS) will release it "for the masses(i am one of them)" after making absolutely sure that it's clean as a whistle! What say?

and.....

according to all the articles I have found the final release is

7601.17514.win7sp1_rtm.101119-1850

In other words, the one I have is the final version.

There is bad news though, something, somewhere and it wasn't me, adjusted my allotted disk space to System Protection to 0, so I can't use System Restore to go back even if I wanted to........in other words I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
