Missing device drivers on Dell Latitude E6400

I recently imaged my Dell E6400 laptop with Win7Pro and the status indicated that it needed troubleshooting. I ran the troubleshooter and when it eventually completed there were 2 problems that could not be fixed:
- Base System Device does not have a driver
- Broadcom USH does not have a driver

I've googled these but nothing comes up that's specific to these devices. Anyone know what they are and where I can find the appropriate drivers?

Thanks in advance
:D

Thanks for your help JK.

Yes, I tried rebooting and Windows does try to install them but cannot find the appropriate drivers. I did manage to find the Broadcom USH one but no luck with the Base System Device.

I also have a problem with a "Bluetooth peripheral device" and there is a solution elsewhere on 7 forums which works for many but not for me.

I'll give the Driver Easy software a go but I'm sceptical.

Welcome to Seven forums. Most likely your base system driver is your card reader either a Ricoh or Texas instruments or conexant. They are pretty interchangeable between manufacturers. all You need to do is go to device manager>right click on the problem device>proprieties>details tab>drop down menu>select hardware id. Copy and paste the id string and most likely we can find you a working driver. Thanks. Fabe

Thanks Fabe. It seems that Windows did eventually manage to find the device driver last night after Action Center flagged that something was amiss. I believe it was the Ricoh which is strange as that appeared to be previously installed correctly.

The Bluetooth peripheral device is still not installed however. The hardware ID for this one is: BTHENUM\{00001204-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb}_LOCALMFG&000f

Any help you can give me on this one would be appreciated.

Well it looks likes this could be a wireless bluetooth card After selecting your system on the driver page for your model Select Windows Vista 32 bit>then under network you'll find a wireless 370 bluetooth mini card driver. Download it>right click on the setup.exe file>click properties>compatibility tab>drop down menu>select Vista>then check the box run in compatibility<install as administrator. Then you can select from the same page Windows Seven 32bit under network you'll find the application for this mini wireless buletooth card. Hope this will help. Here is the Vista 32 bit driver page. Tried that and no luck. Even running in compatibility mode it tells me that the update is not applicable to my system. But there's something else I hadn't noticed before and that's that my WM6.5 phone (HTC HD2) indicates in Devices and Printers that there's a problem. When I troubleshoot it it says that the driver for Bluetooth Peripheral Device is not installed.

However, everything seems to be working ok with the phone, but when I look at the properties of the device the manufacturer, model, serial number, etc. are "unavailable". Maybe I need a driver from HTC, except they don't have one listed!
