Solved Missing drivers, clueless on what to download

So have you enabled Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3)
to watch what loads in the System tray?

Then run all rounds of Important and Optional Windows Updates (except Bing) because there will be drivers as well as performance Updates which may be needed to make them work correctly.

If there are any missing drivers after helping Win7 find the drivers it wants this way, then post back their Hardware Identification.

Yup, it is enabled
and already ran it all,

Do you mean this?

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E3A&SUBSYS_14871043

These are PCI Simple Communications Controller. It may be either a PCI card installed in the PCI slot, or the PCI components of the motherboard.

The missing driver indication, that is a yellow triangle there means a device is present there, but the computer does not now what is it. If it does not cause any lack of functionality, it is not to be worried at all. But if any function is missing, you must to attempt a driver update.

upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.

  1. Click on the start button
  2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
  3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
  4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
  5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.
Upload the list of all the third party drivers Using NirSoft DriverView :

  • Download and execute Driverview
  • View > Hide Microsoft Drivers
  • Edit > Select all
  • File > Save Selected Items
  • In the Save dialog, Set the path to desktop, Put "Driverview" in the name field, and save.
  • Zip the .txt file and upload it.
Let us see if we can obtain any information from the files. (I will be back again after around 12 hours. A long day is waiting at work.)

EDIT: Looks like it is already solved. Good news. :)

So when I google PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E3A&SUBSYS_14871043&REV_04 it tells me it's Intel Management Interface Device which is almost always delivered by Optional Windows Updates if you've enabled Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3) as shown in Step 3 then run all Updates til there are no more.

But the google results also point to the downloads page for your model which has this driver listed under Other: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support-

If you don't have a card reader in Dev Mgr then the PCI Comm Device is likely that driver on the same page.

You'll need to install the USB3 driver to get USB3 in Win7.

Did you install your wireless driver from this page? If not I would try it now to see if that's what's causing your wireless prob. If your unsure if it's Intel or Atheros, try each.

I picked up that stone quickly, thank you, I will run it all again, (updates)

and, I have tried those drivers and failed in the PCI SCC, recognition by windows

After a third time, it worked, now, my Wifi is up, but I do not understand fully why it connected directly with this missing driver if the internet drivers, being lan and wifi were OK.

It was Greg's magic touch.
Sometimes "stuff happens" that no one can easily explain. The drivers may not have installed properly, bad download of them, etc., or something else.

At least it works now, if it didn't I would have thought the motherboard or the WiFi adapter was shot.

Oh yeah, third time's the charm. ;)

Hehe, heh, you're welcome, it was Greg who found the download, I tried and couldn't. :o

Anyway you're welcome anytime if you'd like to give help too. I started here with some silly question over 3 years ago with no intention of being useful.;)

PCI SCC has nothing to do with normal communications (LAN, WiFi, etc.). It's sole purpose is to provide a "hack" into your computer so IT Admins can turn on the PC and load updates to it as well as other functions. If your PC is not part of an IT group, leave the SCC disabled and don't load any of the IME drivers. IME is a resource hog that runs all the time and has no usefulness for a private PC.

Mine's been disabled since day one. :)

Ken what's the best way to disable IME after its driver is installed. Obviously the driver can't be ignored but once installed it has no other interface on my Lenovo. Disable driver?

It's been a while but I think I uninstalled IME, disabled the device then uninstalled the drivers. I also had to "hide" Windows' updates for IME or the drivers will get reinstalled.
