Solved missing recycle bin

Hi all
I am using Windows 7 and my recycle bin icon is missing from my desktop. Doing the "right click on the desktop, personalize, change desktop icons, check the recycle bin box" doesn't work. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks.

Try using a restore point to roll back your computer to a date/time prior to the icon going AWOL.

When did you realize it was gone? I recently turned on 2D surround, and my recycle bin was gone. It was hiding behind my weather gadget

I found the problem by accident. When I right clicked on my desktop., I noticed the word "view" in the window that popped up. I selected it and found that "show desktop icons" was not checked. All the desktop icons magically reappeared when I checked it. Thanks for the replies.

If your missing your recycle bin you can go to My Computer then type Recycle Bin in the search box and then hit enter.
