OK, so I fear I may have messed up a bit, but I'm hoping the gurus on here will save me...

Previously (until 10 mins ago!) when switching my laptop on I was prompted with the login screen where I could select either the Administrator account or my own personal account.

I decided that I wanted to hide the Administator account and have only my personal account at startup / login, so began searching online for a how-to, and found this:

How to hide the administrator account in Windows - How-To - PC Advisor

Followed it step-by-step to the end and then restarted my laptop. Now when I switch the laptop on I am prompted with a blank Windows username and password login screen.

Now of course this wouldn't be a problem if I had a username or password, but unfortunately I do not and currently have no way of getting back in to my own account.

Please can someone shed some light on this? I would be forever grateful!

Thanks in advance

Did you try hitting Enter when the User Name screen is on? That should let you proceed if there is no Password. If that works there is a way eliminate the User Name and Password screen.
