mouse driver corrupted

How can I replace the files mouhid.sys and maybe mouclass.sys My screen shows a dead mouse pointer which although visible and occasionally showing hour glass it can not be moved. so I am left with keyboard what problem that causes no mouse. Never expected to have this problem ..a mouse corruption. I can still use my keyboard and all programs are seemingly functional ..eset scan reports nothing sfc report nothing chkdsk nothing I do start up repair can use the mouse during this action.....same problem mouse pointer right in middle of screen after repair....says some problem could not be repaired I try to do a restore..will not accept them 5 times I tried with different time points in devices manger I see the driver is yellowed message telling me it either corrupt or missing...I uninstall it and boot...still same pointer remains on screen weird eh as if it overlaid. I looks in devices again see nothing ..so I place mouse in USB and it load but still does not work .. please i really need help; could someone help me

Have you tried a different mouse? To be honest at that point I would format and reinstall the OS if it was me....

Kind of hard to answer not knowing what hardware we are talking about.
Fill out your system specs and mouse and model.

Try Windows Update and change the options in Change Settings, check all the boxes. In the main window, Check For Updates Now. It may find your driver, it is already in windows 7.

If you have a branded mouse, such as logitech, and it is still under warranty, contact them.

LOL, easy to do Sahil. Now we need to see if the OP posts back.

Try this,
1) Go to device manager.
2) Mouse and other pointing devices
3) Double click the entry under it, whatever name your mouse is called (Probably something like generic HID ...)
4) Drivers tab
5) Update drivers -> browse my computer for software -> Let me pick manually
6) Then it should show some devices like in the screenshot i have attached, click next and then restart and see if it works.

In step 6 you can try un-checking the box "compatible" devices and install a driver from the Logitech or MS sections (but basic ones only).
