Very randomly the mouse and some times the keyboard freezes and won't come back. I haven't been able to track down the problem.

I checked device manager and nothing is yellow or red. i tried updating the usb, keyboad, and mouse drivers but none are available. All are plugged into a dlink usb hub.

I tried 2 mice and keyboard combinatios:
1- hp mouse and keyboard wired
2- useb mouse/keyboard wireless

To me honest I'm too afraid to just delete usb and or mouse from device drivers. What if IT doesn't come back? :(

Any other ideas?

I had this problem before and it was the USB port that had issues. Sometimes it's as easy as to upgrade your firmware or bios drivers.

I would say go ahead and uninstall the drivers from the device manager, it will install them back imidiately after u refresh devices.

If you're sure that you dont have faulty usb ports. Then go ahead and uninstall the mouse driver and restart. It should be automatically detected by windows after you restart your pc.

or

Try it on safe mode if the problems still occurs then try this:

Right Click in Desktop, Select the Personalize.Open the mouse pointer and select the Pointer Option. Uncheck the Enhance pointer precision, Display pointer trails, Hide pointer while typing, all the options. Then click OK. Also click on Pointers tab and uncheck enable pointer shadow.
