So i've built a new computer and everything seems to be going well except for my mouse, the cursor is acting sluggish, skips and doesn't work half the time, the other half of the time it works perfectly fine. I've tried replacing the batteries(it is wireless) and that hasn't changed anything i've tried using a different mouse but the same problem continues with that one too so i know it isn't the mouse, also both it worked perfectly fine on my old pc. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, i've tried using different usb ports, nothings worked.
it's a logitech m570 for those curious, unable to find drivers for it on logitech's site. also I heard a heavily worked cpu could cause something like this but that isn't it as my cpu use is minimal and it persists. I'd really appreciate any help or insight, also if someone can point to maybe an older driver for it I would like to try that.

Does the mobo has PS/2 ports for keyboard and mouse? If so, perhaps consider bypassing usb and wireless alltogether by using PS/2 keyboard and PS/2 mouse. I did for my desktop, and PS/2 moves along faster than USB, in all fairness, I do have several USB thingies hooked up [including a 7-port ac-powered hub]. I was told elsewhere that many gamers use those 2 PS/2 inputs.

A little more info, I've tried two mice, both motherboard and case usb, 2.0 and 3.0 usb problem still persists. The cursor stutters, as in it will skip, it also simple doesn't move, clicking doesn't work and sometimes it will double click when I only click once. I really need help with this its making gaming impossible.

I am using a Logitech M570 Trackball mouse & it operates faultlessly.

This is the Logitech M570 download website for the correct software for this mouse. Make sure you select the 64 bit version. You will see that this is the same website that Dude has posted.

</title> <meta content="Support and Downloads" name="Search_category" /> <meta content="" name="Search_title" /> </head> <script> $( document ).ready(function() { if(false){ $(".full-specification-btn").click(); } }); </script> <head> <meta HTTP-EQUI

When you have downloaded the software, install it & then open the mouse set up & arrange it to suit you.

Edit. What do you mean by "no luck". Click on the blue area & it should open the Logitech website & where there is a little window that says Smart Installer, click on it & select the 64 bit version & then select the Download.

I believe that actually fixed it. I'll use it for the rest of the night and see if it's staying that way, if so i'll go ahaid and mark this post as solved. Also would i be able to uninstall the program(I like to keep my pc clean of clutter) without it causing the problem to return?

That normally sounds like your usb ports are not giving enough voltage to keep a good wireless signal with the mouse. If all else fails try getting a powered usb hub and see if that fixes your issue, the usb 3 ports should be more than enough voltage though.
What motherboard and PSU do you have?
