Solved Mouse right click changes

Hello

I used to be able to add sites and files etc to my desktop as shortcuts simply by a right click on mouse. I have not changed my mouse but the panel has changed when I right click and it will not offer to let me add shortcuts Is there a way I can reclaim that facility? How have I lost it? Has a driver been removed from my mouse? Why does it not offer me what it used to offer when I right click?

All advice would be gratefully received.

Are you right clicking and selection Send To? In most cases it should give you a choice to create a short cut on your Desktop.
Sometimes it will give you a option to Open File Location. Select that. When your have been directed to that location right click on that file and chose Send TO to create a desktop icon.

Thanks Bear. The problem is that the panel with 'send to' on it has been replaced when I right click by a panel offering different options. The top one is BACK followed by RELOAD then SAVE AS and then PRINT and then TRANSLATE TO ENGLISH. I just want my old panel back as I can find no other way of making shortcuts on my desktop to facebook and knowhow cloud etc.

Very very kind bear. I have had a go but cannot find and ref to send to folder so I have a feeling it has gone. I wonder if I can reinstall or download it from the net?

You might but I don't know how to do it that way.
I don't know where you are getting (send to folder) from.
You could try sfc /scannow. Might help and will not hurt. Please read carefully and completely.

Thanks so much everyone, but I think the problem is solved. I took the laptop to the computer shop and he pointed out that I had been updated to Google Chrome and it does not have that facility for putting a shortcut item on the desktop directly. Apparently you have to bookmark the site and then drag and drop on to the desktop. The nice man reverted me to Internet Explorer so all is as it was . What had happened was I had to have a new HD put in and lost all the stuff on the old one, so was starting again by shortcutting all my frequently used sites. Anyway, thanks again
